We examine the groundstate wavefunction of the rotor model for different boundary conditions. Three conjectures are made on the appearance of numbers enumerating alternating sign matrices. In addition to those occurring in the O($n=1$) model we find the number $A_{rm V}(2m+1;3)$, which 3-enumerates vertically symmetric alternating sign matrices.

Explicit algebraic area enumeration formulae are derived for various lattice walks generalizing the canonical square lattice walk, and in particular for the triangular lattice chiral walk recently introduced by the authors. A key element in the enume ration is the derivation of some remarkable identities involving trigonometric sums --which are also important building blocks of non trivial quantum models such as the Hofstadter model-- and their explicit rewriting in terms of multiple binomial sums. An intriguing connection is also made with number theory and some classes of Apery-like numbers, the cousins of the Apery numbers which play a central role in irrationality considerations for {zeta}(2) and {zeta}(3).

In this note, we give a closed formula for the partition function of the dimer model living on a (2 x n) strip of squares or hexagons on the torus for arbitrary even n. The result is derived in two ways, by using a Potts model like description for th e dimers, and via a recursion relation that was obtained from a map to a 1D monomer-dimer system. The problem of finding the number of perfect matchings can also be translated to the problem of finding a minmal feedback arc set on the dual graph.
We consider the generating function of the algebraic area of lattice walks, evaluated at a root of unity, and its relation to the Hofstadter model. In particular, we obtain an expression for the generating function of the n-th moments of the Hofstadt er Hamiltonian in terms of a complete elliptic integral, evaluated at a rational function. This in turn gives us both exact and asymptotic formulas for these moments.

We review the exact results on the various critical regimes of the antiferromagnetic $Q$-state Potts model. We focus on the Bethe Ansatz approach for generic $Q$, and describe in each case the effective degrees of freedom appearing in the continuum limit.
We study two weighted graph coloring problems, in which one assigns $q$ colors to the vertices of a graph such that adjacent vertices have different colors, with a vertex weighting $w$ that either disfavors or favors a given color. We exhibit a weigh ted chromatic polynomial $Ph(G,q,w)$ associated with this problem that generalizes the chromatic polynomial $P(G,q)$. General properties of this polynomial are proved, and illustrative calculations for various families of graphs are presented. We show that the weighted chromatic polynomial is able to distinguish between certain graphs that yield the same chromatic polynomial. We give a general structural formula for $Ph(G,q,w)$ for lattice strip graphs $G$ with periodic longitudinal boundary conditions. The zeros of $Ph(G,q,w)$ in the $q$ and $w$ planes and their accumulation sets in the limit of infinitely many vertices of $G$ are analyzed. Finally, some related weighted graph coloring problems are mentioned.
