We consider mappings $f:Gsupset Urightarrow G$ where $G$ and $G$ are Carnot groups and U is an open subset. We prove a number of new structural results for Sobolev (in particular quasisymmetric) mappings, establishing (partial) rigidity or (partial) regularity theorems, depending on the context. In particular, we prove the quasisymmetric rigidity conjecture for Carnot groups which are not rigid in the sense of Ottazzi-Warhurst.
We show that in an $m$-step Carnot group, a probability measure with finite $m^{th}$ moment has a well-defined Buser-Karcher center-of-mass, which is a polynomial in the moments of the measure, with respect to exponential coordinates. Using this, we
We prove that a Finsler metric is nonpositively curved in the sense of Busemann if and only if it is affinely equivalent to a Riemannian metric of nonpositive sectional curvature. In other terms, such Finsler metrics are precisely Berwald metrics of
In this paper, we introduce a new notion for lower bounds of Ricci curvature on Alexandrov spaces, and extend Cheeger-Gromoll splitting theorem and Chengs maximal diameter theorem to Alexandrov spaces under this Ricci curvature condition.
This paper contributes to the generalization of Rademachers differentiability result for Lipschitz functions when the domain is infinite dimensional and has nonabelian group structure. We introduce the notion of metric scalable groups which are our i
Stratified groups are those simply connected Lie groups whose Lie algebras admit a derivation for which the eigenspace with eigenvalue 1 is Lie generating. When a stratified group is equipped with a left-invariant path distance that is homogeneous wi
