We discuss a channel consisting of nodes of a network and lines which connect these nodes and form ways for motion of a substance through the channel. We study stationary flow of substance for channel which arms contain finite number of nodes each and obtain probability distribution for substance in arms of this channel. Finally we calculate Shannon information measure for the case of stationary flow of substance in a simple channel consisting of a single arm having just three nodes.

The probability distribution of the number $s$ of distinct sites visited up to time $t$ by a random walk on the fully-connected lattice with $N$ sites is first obtained by solving the eigenvalue problem associated with the discrete master equation. T hen, using generating function techniques, we compute the joint probability distribution of $s$ and $r$, where $r$ is the number of sites visited only once up to time $t$. Mean values, variances and covariance are deduced from the generating functions and their finite-size-scaling behaviour is studied. Introducing properly centered and scaled variables $u$ and $v$ for $r$ and $s$ and working in the scaling limit ($ttoinfty$, $Ntoinfty$ with $w=t/N$ fixed) the joint probability density of $u$ and $v$ is shown to be a bivariate Gaussian density. It follows that the fluctuations of $r$ and $s$ around their mean values in a finite-size system are Gaussian in the scaling limit. The same type of finite-size scaling is expected to hold on periodic lattices above the critical dimension $d_{rm c}=2$.

The functional method to derive the fractional Fokker-Planck equation for probability distribution from the Langevin equation with Levy stable noise is proposed. For the Cauchy stable noise we obtain the exact stationary probability density function of Levy flights in different smooth potential profiles. We find confinement of the particle in the superdiffusion motion with a bimodal stationary distribution for all the anharmonic symmetric monostable potentials investigated. The stationary probability density functions show power-law tails, which ensure finiteness of the variance. By reviewing recent results on these statistical characteristics, the peculiarities of Levy flights in comparison with ordinary Brownian motion are discussed.
We study the asymptotic properties of the steady state mass distribution for a class of collision kernels in an aggregation-shattering model in the limit of small shattering probabilities. It is shown that the exponents characterizing the large and s mall mass asymptotic behavior of the mass distribution depend on whether the collision kernel is local (the aggregation mass flux is essentially generated by collisions between particles of similar masses), or non-local (collision between particles of widely different masses give the main contribution to the mass flux). We show that the non-local regime is further divided into two sub-regimes corresponding to weak and strong non-locality. We also observe that at the boundaries between the local and non-local regimes, the mass distribution acquires logarithmic corrections to scaling and calculate these corrections. Exact solutions for special kernels and numerical simulations are used to validate some non-rigorous steps used in the analysis. Our results show that for local kernels, the scaling solutions carry a constant flux of mass due to aggregation, whereas for the non-local case there is a correction to the constant flux exponent. Our results suggest that for general scale-invariant kernels, the universality classes of mass distributions are labeled by two parameters: the homogeneity degree of the kernel and one further number measuring the degree of the non-locality of the kernel.
We discuss a model of motion of substance through the nodes of a channel of a network. The channel can be modeled by a chain of urns where each urn can exchange substance with the neighboring urns. In addition the urns can exchange substance with the network nodes and the new point is that we include in the model the possibility for exchange of substance among the urns (nodes) and the environment of the network. We consider stationary regime of motion of substance through a finite channel (stationary regime of exchange of substance along the chain of urns) and obtain a class of statistical distributions of substance in the nodes of the channel. Our attention is focused on this class of distributions and we show that for the case of finite channel the obtained class of distributions contains as particular cases truncat
Tensor network (TN) techniques - often used in the context of quantum many-body physics - have shown promise as a tool for tackling machine learning (ML) problems. The application of TNs to ML, however, has mostly focused on supervised and unsupervis ed learning. Yet, with their direct connection to hidden Markov chains, TNs are also naturally suited to Markov decision processes (MDPs) which provide the foundation for reinforcement learning (RL). Here we introduce a general TN formulation of finite, episodic and discrete MDPs. We show how this formulation allows us to exploit algorithms developed for TNs for policy optimisation, the key aim of RL. As an application we consider the issue - formulated as an RL problem - of finding a stochastic evolution that satisfies specific dynamical conditions, using the simple example of random walk excursions as an illustration.
