To investigate the origin and nature of inertia, we introduce a new concept of hypothetical 2D, so-called, master-space (MS), subject to certain rules. The MS, embedded in the background 4D-spacetime, is an indispensable individual companion to the particle of interest, without relation to every other particle. We argue that a deformation/(distortion of local internal properties) of MS is the origin of inertia. With this perspective in sight, we construct the alternative relativistic theory of inertia (RTI), which allows to compute the relativistic inertial force acting on an arbitrary point-like observer due to its absolute acceleration. We go beyond the hypothesis of locality with an emphasis on distortion of MS, which allows to improve essentially the standard metric and other relevant geometrical structures related to the noninertial reference frame of an arbitrary accelerated observer. We compute the inertial force exerted on the photon in a gravitating system in the semi-Riemann space. Despite the totally different and independent physical sources of gravitation and inertia, this approach furnishes justification for the introduction of the principle of equivalence. Consequently, we relate the inertia effects to the more general post-Riemannian geometry. We derive a general expression of the relativistic inertial force exerted on the extended spinning body moving in the Rieman-Cartan space.

We extend the geometrical ideas of the spacetime deformations to study the physical foundation of the post-Riemannian geometry. To this aim, we construct the theory of two-step spacetime deformation as a guiding principle. We address the theory of te leparallel gravity and construct a consistent Einstein-Cartan (EC) theory with the dynamical torsion. We show that the equations of the standard EC theory, in which the equation defining torsion is the algebraic type and, in fact, no propagation of torsion is allowed, can be equivalently replaced by the set of modified EC equations in which the torsion, in general, is dynamical. The special physical constraint imposed upon the spacetime deformations yields the short-range propagating spin-spin interaction.

The method of minimal geometric deformation (MGD) is used to derive static, strongly gravitating, spherically symmetric, compact stellar distributions. The trace and Weyl anomalies are then employed to probe the MGD in the holographic setup, as a realistic model, playing a prominent role in AdS/CFT.

The dynamics of fermions in curved spacetime is governed by a spin connection, a part of which is contorsion, an auxiliary field independent of the metric, without dynamics but fully expressible in terms of the axial current density of fermions. Its effect is the appearance of a quartic interaction involving all fermions. Contorsion can couple to left and right-handed fermions with different strengths, leading to an effective mass for fermions propagating on a background containing fermionic matter.
Gravitational wave and electromagnetic observations can provide new insights into the nature of matter at supra-nuclear densities inside neutron stars. Improvements in electromagnetic and gravitational wave sensing instruments continue to enhance the accuracy with which they can measure the masses, radii, and tidal deformability of neutron stars. These better measurements place tighter constraints on the equation of state of cold matter above nuclear density. In this article, we discuss a complementary approach to get insights into the structure of neutron stars by providing a model prediction for non-linear fundamental eigenmodes (f-modes) and their decay over time, which are thought to be induced by time-dependent tides in neutron star binaries. Building on pioneering studies that relate the properties of f-modes to the structure of neutron stars, we systematically study this link in the non-perturbative regime using models that utilize numerical relativity. Using a suite of fully relativistic numerical relativity simulations of oscillating TOV stars, we establish blueprints for the numerical accuracy needed to accurately compute the frequency and damping times of f-mode oscillations, which we expect to be a good guide for the requirements in the binary case. We show that the resulting f-mode frequencies match established results from linear perturbation theory, but the damping times within numerical errors depart from linear predictions. This work lays the foundation for upcoming studies aimed at a comparison of theoretical models of f-mode signatures in gravitational waves, and their uncertainties with actual gravitational wave data, searching for neutron star binaries on highly eccentric orbits, and probing neutron star structure at high densities.
The four dimensional spacetime continuum, as originally conceived by Minkowski, has become the default framework for describing physical laws. Due to its fundamental importance, there have been various attempts to find the origin of this structure fr om more elementary principles. In this paper, we show how the Minkowski spacetime structure arises naturally from the geometrical properties of three dimensional space when modelled by Clifford geometric algebra of three dimensions $ Cell(Re^3) $. We find that a time-like dimension along with the three spatial dimensions, arise naturally, as well as four additional degrees of freedom that we identify with spin. Within this expanded eight-dimensional arena of spacetime, we find a generalisation of the invariant interval and the Lorentz transformations, with standard results returned as special cases. The value of this geometric approach is shown by the emergence of a fixed speed for light, the laws of special relativity and the form of Maxwells equations, without recourse to any physical arguments.
