The $Sigma$ beam asymmetry in $eta^{prime}$ photoproduction off the proton was measured at the GrAAL polarised photon beam with incoming photon energies of 1.461 and 1.480 GeV. For both energies the asymmetry as a function of the meson production ang le shows a clear structure, more pronounced at the lowest one, with a change of sign around 90$^o$. The observed behaviour is compatible with P-wave D-wave (or S-wave F-wave) interference, the closer to threshold the stronger. The results are compared to the existing state-of-the-art calculations that fail to account for the data.
Two new low-lying $^6$He levels at excitation energies of about 2.4 and 2.9 MeV were observed in the experimental investigation of the p-$alpha$ coincidence spectra obtained by the $^3$H($^4$He,p$alpha$)2n four-body reaction at $E_{rm ,^4He}$ beam en ergy of 27.2 MeV. The relevant $E^*$ peak energy and $Gamma$ energy width spectroscopic parameters for such $^6$He$^*$ excited states decaying into the $alpha$+n+n channel were obtained by analyzing the bidimensional ($E_{rm p}$, $E_{rm alpha}$) energy spectra. The present new result of two low-lying $^6$He$^*$ excited states above the $^4$He+2n threshold energy of 0.974 MeV is important for the investigation of the nuclear structure of neutron rich light nuclei and also as a basic test for theoretical models in the study of the three-cluster resonance feature of $^6$He.
We have searched for a light vector boson $U$, the possible carrier of a dark force, with the KLOE detector at the DA$Phi$NE epm collider, motivated by astrophysical evidence for the presence of dark matter in the universe. Using epm collisions colle cted with an integrated luminosity of $239.3$~pb$^{-1}$, we look for a dimuon mass peak in the reaction epmto$mu^+ mu^-$gam, corresponding to the decay $Utomu^+mu^-$. We find no evidence for a $U$ vector boson signal. We set a 90% CL upper limit for the mixing parameter squared between the photon and the $U$ boson of 1.6$times$10$^{-5}$ to 8.6$times$10$^{-7}$ for the mass region $520<m_{rm U}<980$ MeV.
The study of the $^{48}$Ca+$^{249,250,251,252}$Cf reactions in a wide energy interval around the external barrier has been achieved with the aim of investigating the dynamical effects of the entrance channel via the $^{48}$Ca induced reactions on the $^{249-252}$Cf targets and to analyze the influence of odd and even neutron composition in target on the capture, quasifission and fusion cross sections. Moreover, we also present the results of the individual evaporation residue excitation functions obtained from the de-excitation cascade of the various even-odd and even-even $^{297-300}$118 superheavy compound nuclei reached in the studied reactions, and we compare our results of the $^{294}$118 evaporation residue yields obtained in the synthesis process of the $^{48}$Ca+$^{249,250}$Cf reactions with the experimental data obtained in the $^{48}$Ca+$^{249}$Cf experiment carried out at the Flerov Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions of Dubna.
The $Sigma$ beam asymmetry in the photoproduction of negative pions from quasi-free neutrons in a deuterium target was measured at Graal in the energy interval 700 - 1500 MeV and a wide angular range, using polarized and tagged photons. The results are compared with recent partial wave analyses.
