Recently, Gandhi, Honig, and Kishimoto submitted a manuscript to the arXiv e-print service on the location of the emitting region of the narrow FeK$alpha $ line that appears in the X-ray spectra of active galactic nuclei (AGNs) compared with the inne r radius of the dust torus (arXiv:1502.02661). Prior to their manuscript, a similar discussion had already been presented in a section of Minezaki & Matsushita (2015), which had been accepted for publication in the Astrophysical Journal. Because Gandhi et al. made no reference to Minezaki & Matsushita (2015) apart from improperly citing it merely as an application of the dust reverberation of AGNs, we present a brief comparison of both papers. Gandhi et al. compared the location of the FeK$alpha$ emitting region with the individually measured radius of the dust torus for type 1 AGNs, whereas Minezaki & Matsushita (2015) examined it based on the scaling relation of the dust reverberation radius for both type 1 and type 2 AGNs. Nevertheless, Gandhi et als main result is basically consistent with and supports the results of Minezaki & Matsushita (2015).
The problem `human and work in a model working group is investigated by means of cellular automata technique. Attitude of members of a group towards work is measured by an indicator of loyalty to the group (the number of agents who carry out their ta sks), and lack of loyalty (the number of agents, who give their tasks to other agents). Initially, all agents realize scheduled tasks one-by-one. Agents with the number of scheduled tasks larger than a given threshold change their strategy to unloyal one and start avoiding completing tasks by passing them to their colleagues. Optionally, in some conditions, we allow agents to return to loyal state; hence the rule is hysteretic. Results are presented on an influence of i) the density of tasks, ii) the threshold number of tasks assigned to the agents forcing him/her for strategy change on the system efficiency. We show that a `black scenario of the system stacking in a `jammed phase (with all agents preferring unloyal strategy and having plenty tasks scheduled for realization) may be avoided when return to loyalty is allowed and either i) the number of agents chosen for task realization, or ii) the number of assigned tasks, or iii) the threshold value of assigned tasks, which force the agent to conversion from loyal strategy to unloyal one, or iv) the threshold value of tasks assigned to unloyal agent, which force him/her to task redistribution among his/her neighbors, are smartly chosen.
There are several centrality measures that have been introduced and studied for real world networks. They account for the different vertex characteristics that permit them to be ranked in order of importance in the network. Betweenness centrality is a measure of the influence of a vertex over the flow of information between every pair of vertices under the assumption that information primarily flows over the shortest path between them. In this paper we present betweenness centrality of some important classes of graphs.
This paper studies context bisimulation for higher-order processes, in the presence of parameterization (viz. abstraction). We show that the extension of higher-order processes with process parameterization retains the characterization of context bis imulation by a much simpler form of bisimulation called normal bisimulation (viz. they are coincident), in which universal quantifiers are eliminated; whereas it is not the same with name parameterization. These results clarify further the bisimulation theory of higher-order processes, and also shed light on the essential distinction between the two kinds of parameterization.
We report on the third phase of our study of the neutrino-cooled hyperaccreting torus around a black hole that powers the jet in Gamma Ray Bursts. We focus on the influence of the black hole spin on the properties of the torus. The structure of a sta tionary torus around the Kerr black hole is solved numerically. We take into account the detailed treatment of the microphysics in the nuclear equation of state that includes the neutrino trapping effect. We find, that in the case of rapidly rotating black holes, the thermal instability discussed in our previous work is enhanced and develops for much lower accretion rates. We also find the important role of the energy transfer from the rotating black hole to the torus, via the magnetic coupling.
In this paper we discuss the relationship between the moving planes of a rational parametric surface and the singular points on it. Firstly, the intersection multiplicity of several planar curves is introduced. Then we derive an equivalent definition for the order of a singular point on a rational parametric surface. Based on the new definition of singularity orders, we derive the relationship between the moving planes of a rational surface and the order of singular points. Especially, the relationship between the $mu$-basis and the order of a singular point is also discussed.

A binary poset code of codimension M (of cardinality 2^{N-M}, where N is the code length) can correct maximum M errors. All possible poset metrics that allow codes of codimension M to be M-, (M-1)- or (M-2)-perfect are described. Some general conditi ons on a poset which guarantee the nonexistence of perfect poset codes are derived; as examples, we prove the nonexistence of R-perfect poset codes for some R in the case of the crown poset and in the case of the union of disjoin chains.
