We report the first observation of $B^0 to X(3872) (K^{+}pi^{-})$ and evidence for $B^+ to X(3872) (K^{0}pi^{+})$. We measure the product of branching fractions for the former to be ${cal B}(B^0 to X(3872) (K^+ pi^-)) times {cal B}(X(3872) to J/psi p i^+ pi^-) = (7.9 pm 1.3(mbox{stat.})pm 0.4(mbox{syst.})) times 10^{-6}$ and find that $B^{0}to X(3872) K^{*}(892)^{0}$ does not dominate the $B^{0}to X(3872)K^{+}pi^{-}$ decay mode. We also measure ${cal B}(B^+ to X(3872) (K^0 pi^+)) times {cal B}(X(3872) to J/psi pi^+ pi^-) = (10.6 pm 3.0(mbox{stat.}) pm 0.9(mbox{syst.})) times 10^{-6}$. This study is based on the full data sample of 711~fb$^{-1}$ ($772times 10^6 Bbar B$ pairs) collected at the $Upsilon(4S)$ resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB collider.
We search for CP violation in neutral charm meson decays using a data sample with an integrated luminosity of 966 fb^-1 collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB e+e- asymmetric-energy collider. The asymmetry obtained in the rate of D^0 and D^0-b ar decays to the pi^0 pi^0 final state, [-0.03+-0.64(stat)+-0.10(syst)]%, is consistent with no CP violation. This constitutes an order of magnitude improvement over the existing result. We also present an updated measurement of the CP asymmetry in the D^0 -> K_S pi^0 decay: A_{CP}(D^0 -> K_S pi^0) = [-0.21+-0.16(stat)+-0.07(syst)]%.
We report a study of the suppressed decay B^- -> DK^-, D -> K^+pi^-pi^0, where D denotes either a D^0 or a bar{D}^0 meson. The decay is sensitive to the CP-violating parameter phi_3. Using a data sample of 772 x 10^6 Bbar{B} pairs collected at the Up silon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector, we measure the ratio of branching fractions of the above suppressed decay to the favored decay B^- -> DK^-, D -> K^-pi^+pi^0. Our result is R_{DK} = [1.98 +/- 0.62(stat.) +/- 0.24(syst.)] x 10^{-2}, which indicates the first evidence of the signal for this suppressed decay with a significance of 3.2 standard deviations. We measure the direct CP asymmetry between the suppressed B^- and B^+ decays to be A_{DK} = 0.41 +/- 0.30 (stat.) +/- 0.05 (syst.). We also report measurements for the analogous quantities R_{Dpi} and A_{Dpi} for the decay B^- -> Dpi^-, D -> K^+pi^-pi^0.
We search for bottomonium states in Upsilon(2S)-> (bb-bar) gamma decays with an integrated luminosity of 24.7fb^-1 recorded at the Upsilon(2S) resonance with the Belle detector at KEK, containing (157.8+-3.6) X 10^6 Upsilon(2S) events. The (bb-bar) s ystem is reconstructed in 26 exclusive hadronic final states composed of charged pions, kaons, protons, and K^0_S mesons. We find no evidence for the state recently observed around 9975 MeV (X_(bb-bar)) in an analysis based on a data sample of 9.3 X 10^6 Upsilon(2S) events collected with the CLEO III detector. We set a 90 % confidence-level upper limit on the branching fraction B[Upsilon(2S)-> X_(bb-bar) gamma] X sum_i{B[X_(bb-bar)-> h_i]}< 4.9 X 10^-6, summed over the exclusive hadronic final states employed in our analysis. This result is an order of magnitude smaller than the measurement reported with CLEO data. We also set an upper limit for the eta_b(1S) state of B[Upsilon(2S)-> eta_b(1S) gamma] X sum_i{B[eta_b(1S)-> h_i]}< 3.7 X 10^-6.
We report a study of $Bto (J/psi gamma) K$ and $Bto (psi gamma)K$ decay modes using $772times 10^{6}$ $Bbar{B}$ events collected at the Upsilon(4S)$ resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB energy-asymmetric $e^+ e^-$ collider. We observe $X(387 2) to J/psi gamma$ and report the first evidence for $chi_{c2} to J/psi gamma$ in $Bto (X_{cbar{c}}gamma) K$ decays, while in a search for $X(3872) to psi gamma$ no significant signal is found. We measure the branching fractions, $mathcal{B}(B^{pm} to X(3872) K^{pm}) mathcal{B}(X(3872) to J/psigamma)$ $=$ $(1.78^{+0.48}_{-0.44}pm 0.12)times 10^{-6}$, $mathcal{B} (B^{pm} tochi_{c2} K^{pm})$$=$ $(1.11^{+0.36}_{-0.34} pm 0.09) times 10^{-5}$, $mathcal{B}(B^{pm} to X(3872) K^{pm}) mathcal{B}(X(3872) to psigamma)$ $<$ $3.45times 10^{-6}$ (upper limit at 90% C.L.) and also provide upper limits for other searches.
The suppressed decay chain B- -> DK-, D -> K+pi-, where D indicates a anti-D0 or D0 state, provides important information on the CP-violating angle phi_3. We measure the ratio R_{DK} of the decay rates to the favored mode B- -> DK-, D -> K-pi+ to be R_{DK} = [1.63^{+0.44}_{-0.41}(stat)^{+0.07}_{-0.13}(syst)] x 10^{-2}, which indicates the first evidence of the signal with a significance of 4.1sigma. We also measure the asymmetry A_{DK} between the charge-conjugate decays to be A_{DK} = -0.39^{+0.26}_{-0.28}(stat)^{+0.04}_{-0.03}(syst). The results are based on the full 772 x 10^6 B anti-B pair data sample collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector.
We report improved measurements of time-dependent CP violation parameters for B^0(bar{B}^0) -> psi(2S) K_S. This analysis is based on a data sample of 657x10^6 BBbar pairs collected at the Y(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB energy-as ymmetric e+e- collider. We fully reconstruct one neutral B meson in the psi(2S) K_S CP-eigenstate decay channel, and the flavor of the accompanying B meson is identified to be either B^0 or bar{B}^0 from its decay products. CP violation parameters are obtained from the asymmetries in the distributions of the proper-time intervals between the two B decays: S (psi(2S) K_S) = +0.72 +/- 0.09(stat) +/- 0.03(syst), A (psi(2S) K_S) = +0.04 +/- 0.07(stat) +/- 0.05(syst). These results are in agreement with results from measurements of B^0 -> J/psi K^0.
