We consider pressing sequences, a certain kind of transformation of graphs with loops into empty graphs, motivated by an application in phylogenetics. In particular, we address the question of when a graph has precisely one such pressing sequence, thus answering an question from Cooper and Davis (2015). We characterize uniquely pressable graphs, count the number of them on a given number of vertices, and provide a polynomial time recognition algorithm. We conclude with a few open questions. Keywords: Pressing sequence, adjacency matrix, Cholesky factorization, binary matrix

Interval graphs were used in the study of genomics by the famous molecular biologist Benzer. Later on probe interval graphs were introduced by Zhang as a generalization of interval graphs for the study of cosmid contig mapping of DNA. A tagged probe interval graph (briefly, TPIG) is motivated by similar applications to genomics, where the set of vertices is partitioned into two sets, namely, probes and nonprobes and there is an interval on the real line corresponding to each vertex. The graph has an edge between two probe vertices if their corresponding intervals intersect, has an edge between a probe vertex and a nonprobe vertex if the interval corresponding to a nonprobe vertex contains at least one end point of the interval corresponding to a probe vertex and the set of non-probe vertices is an independent set. This class of graphs have been defined nearly two decades ago, but till today there is no known recognition algorithm for it. In this paper, we consider a natural subclass of TPIG, namely, the class of proper tagged probe interval graphs (in short PTPIG). We present characterization and a linear time recognition algorithm for PTPIG. To obtain this characterization theorem we introduce a new concept called canonical sequence for proper interval graphs, which, we belief, has an independent interest in the study of proper interval graphs. Also to obtain the recognition algorithm for PTPIG, we introduce and solve a variation of consecutive $1$s problem, namely, oriented consecutive $1$s problem and some variations of PQ-tree algorithm. We also discuss the interrelations between the classes of PTPIG and TPIG with probe interval graphs and probe proper interval graphs.

Point-determining graphs are graphs in which no two vertices have the same neighborhoods, co-point-determining graphs are those whose complements are point-determining, and bi-point-determining graphs are those both point-determining and co-point-determining. Bicolored point-determining graphs are point-determining graphs whose vertices are properly colored with white and black. We use the combinatorial theory of species to enumerate these graphs as well as the connected cases.
A graph $G$ is emph{uniquely k-colorable} if the chromatic number of $G$ is $k$ and $G$ has only one $k$-coloring up to permutation of the colors. A uniquely $k$-colorable graph $G$ is edge-critical if $G-e$ is not a uniquely $k$-colorable graph for any edge $ein E(G)$. Melnikov and Steinberg [L. S. Melnikov, R. Steinberg, One counterexample for two conjectures on three coloring, Discrete Math. 20 (1977) 203-206] asked to find an exact upper bound for the number of edges in a edge-critical 3-colorable planar graph with $n$ vertices. In this paper, we give some properties of edge-critical uniquely 3-colorable planar graphs and prove that if $G$ is such a graph with $n(geq6)$ vertices, then $|E(G)|leq frac{5}{2}n-6 $, which improves the upper bound $frac{8}{3}n-frac{17}{3}$ given by Matsumoto [N. Matsumoto, The size of edge-critical uniquely 3-colorable planar graphs, Electron. J. Combin. 20 (3) (2013) $#$P49]. Furthermore, we find some edge-critical 3-colorable planar graphs which have $n(=10,12, 14)$ vertices and $frac{5}{2}n-7$ edges.
In this paper we are interested in the asymptotic enumeration of Cayley graphs. It has previously been shown that almost every Cayley digraph has the smallest possible automorphism group: that is, it is a digraphical regular representation (DRR). In this paper, we approach the corresponding question for undirected Cayley graphs. The situation is complicated by the fact that there are two infinite families of groups that do not admit any graphical regular representation (GRR). The strategy for digraphs involved analysing separately the cases where the regular group $R$ has a nontrivial proper normal subgroup $N$ with the property that the automorphism group of the digraph fixes each $N$-coset setwise, and the cases where it does not. In this paper, we deal with undirected graphs in the case where the regular group has such a nontrivial proper normal subgroup.
We present the first combinatorial scheme for counting labelled 4-regular planar graphs through a complete recursive decomposition. More precisely, we show that the exponential generating function of labelled 4-regular planar graphs can be computed effectively as the solution of a system of equations, from which the coefficients can be extracted. As a byproduct, we also enumerate labelled 3-connected 4-regular planar graphs, and simple 4-regular rooted maps.
