We provide a constructive proof on the equivalence of two fundamental concepts: the global Lyapunov function in engineering and the potential function in physics, establishing a bridge between these distinct fields. This result suggests new approaches on the significant unsolved problem namely to construct Lyapunov functions for general nonlinear systems through the analogy with existing methods on potential functions. In addition, we show another connection that the Lyapunov equation is a reduced form of the generalized Einstein relation for linear systems.

We investigate the encoding of higher-dimensional logic into quantum states. To that end we introduce finite-function-encoding (FFE) states which encode arbitrary $d$-valued logic functions and investigate their structure as an algebra over the ring of integers modulo $d$. We point out that the polynomiality of the function is the deciding property for associating hypergraphs to states. Given a polynomial, we map it to a tensor-edge hypergraph, where each edge of the hypergraph is associated with a tensor. We observe how these states generalize the previously defined qudit hypergraph states, especially through the study of a group of finite-function-encoding Pauli stabilizers. Finally, we investigate the structure of FFE states under local unitary operations, with a focus on the bipartite scenario and its connections to the theory of complex Hadamard matrices.

We study the spatial asymptotics of Greens function for the 1d Schrodinger operator with operator-valued decaying potential. The bounds on the entropy of the spectral measures are obtained. They are used to establish the presence of a.c. spectrum

In this paper, we demonstrate, first in literature known to us, that potential functions can be constructed in continuous dissipative chaotic systems and can be used to reveal their dynamical properties. To attain this aim, a Lorenz-like system is proposed and rigorously proved chaotic for exemplified analysis. We explicitly construct a potential function monotonically decreasing along the systems dynamics, revealing the structure of the chaotic strange attractor. The potential function can have different forms of construction. We also decompose the dynamical system to explain for the different origins of chaotic attractor and strange attractor. Consequently, reasons for the existence of both chaotic nonstrange attractors and nonchaotic strange attractors are clearly discussed within current decomposition framework.
We study properties of the full partition function for the $U(1)$ 5D $mathcal{N}=2^*$ gauge theory with adjoint hypermultiplet of mass $M$. This theory is ultimately related to abelian 6D (2,0) theory. We construct the full non-perturbative partition function on toric Sasaki-Einstein manifolds by gluing flat copies of the Nekrasov partition function and we express the full partition function in terms of the generalized double elliptic gamma function $G_2^C$ associated with a certain moment map cone $C$. The answer exhibits a curious $SL(4,mathbb{Z})$ modular property. Finally, we propose a set of rules to construct the partition function that resembles the calculation of 5D supersymmetric partition function with the insertion of defects of various co-dimensions.

This paper is a continuation of my previous work on absolutely continuous and singular spectral shift functions, where it was in particular proved that the singular part of the spectral shift function is an a.e. integer-valued function. It was also shown that the singular spectral shift function is a locally constant function of the coupling constant $r,$ with possible jumps only at resonance points. Main result of this paper asserts that the jump of the singular spectral shift function at a resonance point is equal to the so-called resonance index, --- a new (to the best of my knowledge) notion introduced in this paper. Resonance index can be described as follows. For a fixed $lambda$ the resonance points $r_0$ of a path $H_r$ of self-adjoint operators are real poles of a certain meromorphic function associated with the triple $(lambda+i0; H_0,V).$ When $lambda+i0$ is shifted to $lambda+iy$ with small $y>0,$ that pole get off the real axis in the coupling constant complex plane and, in general, splits into some $N_+$ poles in the upper half-plane and some $N_-$ poles in the lower half-plane (counting multiplicities). Resonance index of the triple $(lambda; H_{r_0},V)$ is the difference $N_+-N_-.$ Based on the theorem just described, a non-trivial example of singular spectral shift function is given.
