An $omega$-meson in motion with respect to a nuclear medium can couple to a $sigma$-meson through a particle-hole excitation. This coupling is large. We investigate its consequences for the width of $omega$-mesons in matter and for the s-wave annihilation of pions into lepton pairs which can take place in relativistic heavy ion collisions. We find that the two pion decay of $omega$-mesons, resulting from the $omega-sigma$ transition and the subsequent $2pi$ decay of the $sigma$-meson, leads to a substantial broadening of $omega$-mesons in matter and possibly to an observable effect in experiments measuring the $e^+e^-$ decay of vector mesons produced in nuclei and in relativistic heavy-ion collisions. The inverse process, the s-wave annihilation of pions into $omega$-mesons decaying into $e^+e^-$ pairs, has in general a much smaller cross section than the corresponding p-wave annihilation through $rho$-mesons and is expected to contribute rather little to the total $e^+e^-$ pair production in relativistic heavy ion collisions.

We study, at leading order in the large number of colours expansion and within the Resonance Chiral Theory framework, the odd-intrinsic-parity $e^+ e^- rightarrow pi^+ pi^- (pi^0, eta)$ cross-sections in the energy regime populated by hadron resonances, namely $3 , m_{pi} lsim E lsim 2 , mbox{GeV}$. In addition we implement our results in the Monte Carlo generator PHOKHARA 7.0 and we simulate hadron production through the radiative return method.

The interference fragmentation function translates the fragmentation of a quark with a transverse projection of the spin into an azimuthal asymmetry of two final-state hadrons. In e+e- annihilation the product of two interference fragmentation functions is measured. We report nonzero asymmetries for pairs of charge-ordered pi+pi- pairs, which indicate a significant interference fragmentation function in this channel. The results are obtained from a 672 fb-1 data sample that contains 711 times 106 pi+pi- pairs and was collected at and near the ?(4S) resonance, with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider.

A vector-dominance two-photon exchange model is proposed to explain the recently observed production of $rho^0rho^0$ and $rho^0phi$ pairs in $e^+e^-$ annihilation at 10.58 GeV with the BaBar detector. All the observed features of the data --angular and decay distributions, rates-- are in agreement with the model. Predictions are made for yet-unobserved final states.

The Linear Boltzmann Transport (LBT) model for jet propagation and interaction in quark-gluon plasma (QGP) has been used to study jet quenching in high-energy heavy-lion collisions. The suppression of single inclusive jet production, medium modification of $gamma$-jet correlation, jet profiles and fragmentation functions as observed in experiments at Large Hadron Collider (LHC) can be described well by LBT in which jet-induced medium response is shown to play an essential role. In event-by-event simulations of jet quenching within LBT, jet azimuthal anisotropies are found to correlate linearly with the anisotropic flows of bulk hadrons from the underlying hydrodynamic events.
We calculate cross sections of a pair $B_c$ meson production on the basis of two-photon mechanism from electron-positron annihilation. We investigate the production cross sections in nonrelativistic approximation and with the account of relativistic corrections. Relativistic production amplitudes of S-wave pair pseudoscalar, vector and pseudoscalar+vector $B_c$-mesons are constructed on the basis of relativistic quark model. Numerical values of the production cross sections are obtained at different center-of-mass energies. The comparison of one-photon and two-photon annihilation contributions is presented.
