We calculate the electric conductivity $sigma$ in deconfined QCD matter using a holographic QCD model, i.e., the Sakai-Sugimoto Model with varying magnetic field $B$ and chiral anomaly strength. After confirming that our estimated $sigma$ for $B=0$ is consistent with the lattice-QCD results, we study the case with $B eq 0$ in which the coefficient $alpha$ in the Chern-Simons term controls the chiral anomaly strength. Our results imply that the transverse conductivity, $sigma_perp$, is suppressed to be $lesssim 70%$ at $Bsim 1,mathrm{GeV}^2$ as compared to the $B=0$ case when the temperature is fixed as $T= 0.2,mathrm{GeV}$. Since the Sakai-Sugimoto Model has massless fermions, the longitudinal conductivity, $sigma_parallel$, with $B eq 0$ should diverge due to production of the matter chirality. Yet, it is possible to extract a regulated part out from $sigma_parallel$ with an extra condition to neutralize the matter chirality. This regulated quantity is interpreted as an Ohmic part of $sigma_parallel$. We show that the longitudinal Ohmic conductivity increases with increasing $B$ for small $alpha$, while it is suppressed with larger $B$ for physical $alpha=3/4$ due to anomaly induced interactions.

We revisit the chiral anomaly in the quantum kinetic theory in the Wigner function formalism under the background field approximation. Our results show that the chiral anomaly is actually from the Dirac sea or the vacuum contribution in the un-normal-ordered Wigner function. We also demonstrate that this contribution modifies the chiral kinetic equation for antiparticles.
We study the influence of external electric, $E$, and magnetic, $B$, fields parallel to each other, and of a chiral chemical potential, $mu_5$, on the chiral phase transition of Quantum Chromodynamics. Our theoretical framework is a Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model with a contact interaction. Within this model we compute the critical temperature of chiral symmetry restoration, $T_c$, as a function of the chiral chemical potential and field strengths. We find that the fields inhibit and $mu_5$ enhances chiral symmetry breaking, in agreement with previous studies.
A fundamental property of QCD is the presence of the chiral anomaly, which is the primary component of the $pi^0rightarrowgammagamma$ decay amplitude. Based on this anomaly and its small ($simeq$ 4.5%) chiral correction, a firm prediction of the $pi^0$ lifetime can be used as a test of QCD at confinement scale energies. The interesting experimental and theoretical histories of the $pi^0$ meson are reviewed, from discovery to the present era. Experimental results are in agreement with the theoretical prediction, within the current ($simeq$ 3%) experimental error; however, they are not yet sufficiently precise to test the chiral corrected result, which is a firm QCD prediction and is known to $simeq$ 1% uncertainty. At this level there exist experimental inconsistencies, which require attention. Possible future work to improve the present precision is suggested.
We establish a holographic bottom-up model which covers both the baryonic and quark matter phases in cold and dense QCD. This is obtained by including the baryons using simple approximation schemes in the V-QCD model, which also includes the backreaction of the quark matter to the dynamics of pure Yang-Mills. We examine two approaches for homogeneous baryon matter: baryons as a thin layer of noninteracting matter in the holographic bulk, and baryons with a homogeneous bulk gauge field. We find that the second approach exhibits phenomenologically reasonable features. At zero temperature, the vacuum, baryon, and quark matter phases are separated by strongly first order transitions as the chemical potential varies. The equation of state in the baryonic phase is found to be stiff, i.e., the speed of sound clearly exceeds the value $c_s^2=1/3$ of conformal plasmas at high baryon densities.
We study the physics with finite nuclear density in the framework of AdS/QCD with holographic baryon field included. Based on a mean field type approach, we introduce the nucleon density as a bi-fermion condensate of the lowest mode of the baryon field and calculate the density dependence of the chiral condensate and the nucleon mass. We observe that the chiral condensate as well as the mass of nucleon decrease with increasing nuclear density. We also consider the mass splitting of charged vector mesons in iso-spin asymmetric nuclear matter.
