We study the existence of ground states to a nonlinear fractional Kirchhoff equation with an external potential $V$. Under suitable assumptions on $V$, using the monotonicity trick and the profile decomposition, we prove the existence of ground states. In particular, the nonlinearity does not satisfy the Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz type condition or monotonicity assumptions.

In this paper, we use Dafermos-Rodnianskis new vector field method to study the asymptotic pointwise decay properties for solutions of energy subcritical defocusing semilinear wave equations in $mathbb{R}^{1+3}$. We prove that the solution decays as quickly as linear waves for $p>frac{1+sqrt{17}}{2}$, covering part of the sub-conformal case, while for the range $2<pleq frac{1+sqrt{17}}{2}$, the solution still decays with rate at least $t^{-frac{1}{3}}$. As a consequence, the solution scatters in energy space when $p>2.3542$. We also show that the solution is uniformly bounded when $p>frac{3}{2}$.

In this paper, we consider the existence and asymptotic properties of solutions to the following Kirchhoff equation begin{equation}label{1} onumber - Bigl(a+bint_{{R^3}} {{{left| { abla u} right|}^2}}Bigl) Delta u =lambda u+ {| u |^{p - 2}}u+mu {| u |^{q - 2}}u text { in } mathbb{R}^{3} end{equation} under the normalized constraint $int_{{mathbb{R}^3}} {{u}^2}=c^2$, where $a!>!0$, $b!>!0$, $c!>!0$, $2!<!q!<!frac{14}{3}!<! p!leq!6$ or $frac{14}{3}!<!q!<! p!leq! 6$, $mu!>!0$ and $lambda!in!R$ appears as a Lagrange multiplier. In both cases for the range of $p$ and $q$, the Sobolev critical exponent $p!=!6$ is involved and the corresponding energy functional is unbounded from below on $S_c=Big{ u in H^{1}({mathbb{R}^3}): int_{{mathbb{R}^3}} {{u}^2}=c^2 Big}$. If $2!<!q!<!frac{10}{3}$ and $frac{14}{3}!<! p!<!6$, we obtain a multiplicity result to the equation. If $2!<!q!<!frac{10}{3}!<! p!=!6$ or $frac{14}{3}!<!q!<! p!leq! 6$, we get a ground state solution to the equation. Furthermore, we derive several asymptotic results on the obtained normalized solutions. Our results extend the results of N. Soave (J. Differential Equations 2020 $&$ J. Funct. Anal. 2020), which studied the nonlinear Schr{o}dinger equations with combined nonlinearities, to the Kirchhoff equations. To deal with the special difficulties created by the nonlocal term $({int_{{R^3}} {left| { abla u} right|} ^2}) Delta u$ appearing in Kirchhoff type equations, we develop a perturbed Pohozaev constraint approach and we find a way to get a clear picture of the profile of the fiber map via careful analysis. In the meantime, we need some subtle energy estimates under the $L^2$-constraint to recover compactness in the Sobolev critical case.
Consider a nonlinear Kirchhoff type equation as follows begin{equation*} left{ begin{array}{ll} -left( aint_{mathbb{R}^{N}}| abla u|^{2}dx+bright) Delta u+u=f(x)leftvert urightvert ^{p-2}u & text{ in }mathbb{R}^{N}, uin H^{1}(mathbb{R}^{N}), & end{array}% right. end{equation*}% where $Ngeq 1,a,b>0,2<p<min left{ 4,2^{ast }right}$($2^{ast }=infty $ for $N=1,2$ and $2^{ast }=2N/(N-2)$ for $Ngeq 3)$ and the function $fin C(mathbb{R}^{N})cap L^{infty }(mathbb{R}^{N})$. Distinguishing from the existing results in the literature, we are more interested in the geometric properties of the energy functional related to the above problem. Furthermore, the nonexistence, existence, unique and multiplicity of positive solutions are proved dependent on the parameter $a$ and the dimension $N.$ In particular, we conclude that a unique positive solution exists for $1leq Nleq4$ while at least two positive solutions are permitted for $Ngeq5$.
We investigate the stability of ground states to a nonlinear focusing Schrodinger equation in presence of a Kirchhoff term. Through a spectral analysis of the linearized operator about ground states, we show a modulation stability estimate of ground states in the spirit of one due to Weinstein [{it SIAM J. Math. Anal.}, 16(1985),472-491].
