Based on a system-reservoir model and an appropriate choice of nonlinear coupling, we have explored the microscopic quantum generalization of classical Li{e}nard systems. Making use of oscillator coherent states and canonical thermal distributions of the associated c-numbers, we have derived the quantum Langevin equation of the reduced system which admits of single or multiple limit cycles. It has been shown that detailed balance in the form of fluctuation-dissipation relation preserves the dynamical stability of the attractors even in case of vacuum excitation. The quant
We consider the global thermal state of classical and quantum harmonic oscillators that interact with a reservoir. Ohmic damping of the oscillator can be exactly treated with a 1D scalar field reservoir, whereas general non-Ohmic damping is conveniently treated with a continuum reservoir of harmonic oscillators. Using the diagonalized Hamiltonian of the total system, we calculate a number of thermodynamic quantities for the damped oscillator: the mean force internal energy, mean force free energy, and another internal energy based on the free-oscillator Hamiltonian. The classical mean force energy is equal to that of a free oscillator, for both Ohmic and non-Ohmic damping and no matter how strong the coupling to the reservoir. In contrast, the quantum mean force energy depends on the details of the damping and diverges for strictly Ohmic damping. These results give additional insight into the steady-state thermodynamics of open systems with arbitrarily strong coupling to a reservoir, complementing results for energies derived within dynamical approaches (e.g. master equations) in the weak-coupling regime.
We consider two one dimensional nonlinear oscillators, namely (i) Higgs oscillator and (ii) a $k$-dependent nonpolynomial rational potential, where $k$ is the constant curvature of a Riemannian manifold. Both the systems are of position dependent mass form, ${displaystyle m(x) = frac{1}{(1 + k x^2)^2}}$, belonging to the quadratic Li$acute{e}$nard type nonlinear oscillators. They admit different kinds of motions at the classical level. While solving the quant
Classical statistical average values are generally generalized to average values of quantum mechanics, it is discovered that quantum mechanics is direct generalization of classical statistical mechanics, and we generally deduce both a new general continuous eigenvalue equation and a general discrete eigenvalue equation in quantum mechanics, and discover that a eigenvalue of quantum mechanics is just an extreme value of an operator in possibility distribution, the eigenvalue f is just classical observable quantity. A general classical statistical uncertain relation is further given, the general classical statistical uncertain relation is generally generalized to quantum uncertainty principle, the two lost conditions in classical uncertain relation and quantum uncertainty principle, respectively, are found. We generally expound the relations among uncertainty principle, singularity and condensed matter stability, discover that quantum uncertainty principle prevents from the appearance of singularity of the electromagnetic potential between nucleus and electrons, and give the failure conditions of quantum uncertainty principle. Finally, we discover that the classical limit of quantum mechanics is classical statistical mechanics, the classical statistical mechanics may further be degenerated to classical mechanics, and we discover that only saying that the classical limit of quantum mechanics is classical mechanics is mistake. As application examples, we deduce both Shrodinger equation and state superposition principle, deduce that there exist decoherent factor from a general mathematical representation of state superposition principle, and the consistent difficulty between statistical interpretation of quantum mechanics and determinant property of classical mechanics is overcome.
A structural study of the smaller Li$^+$He$_n$ clusters with $nle30$ has been carried out using different theoretical methods. The structures and the energetics of the clusters have been obtained using both classical energy minimization methods and quantum Diffusion Monte Carlo. The total interaction acting within the clusters has been obtained as a sum of pairwise potentials: Li$^+$-He and He-He. This approximation had been shown in our earlier study cite{8} to give substantially correct results for energies and geometries once compared to full ab-initio calculations. The general features of the spatial structures, and their energetics, are discussed in details for the clusters up to $n=30$ and the first solvation shell is shown to be essentially completed by the first ten helium atoms.
A locking protocol between two parties is as follows: Alice gives an encrypted classical message to Bob which she does not want Bob to be able to read until she gives him the key. If Alice is using classical resources, and she wants to approach unconditional security, then the key and the message must have comparable sizes. But if Alice prepares a quantum state, the size of the key can be comparatively negligible. This effect is called quantum locking. Entanglement does not play a role in this quantum advantage. We show that, in this scenario, the quantum discord quantifies the advantage of the quantum protocol over the corresponding classical one for any classical-quantum state.
