We present an update of the SModelS database with simplified model results from 13 ATLAS and 10 CMS searches for supersymmetry at Run 2. This includes 5 ATLAS and 1 CMS analyses for full Run 2 luminosity, i.e. close to 140/fb of data. In total, 76 official upper limit and efficiency map results have been added. Moreover, 21 efficiency map results have been produced by us using MadAnalysis5, to improve the coverage of gluino-squark production. The constraining power of the new database, v1.2.3, is compared to that of the previous release, v1.2.2. SModelS v1.2.3 is publicly available and can readily be employed for physics studies.

We present the update of the SModelS database with the simplified model results from CMS searches for supersymmetry at Run 2 with 36 fb$^{-1}$ of data. The constraining power of these new results is compared to that of the 8 TeV results within the context of a full model, the pMSSM. The new database, v1.1.2, is publicly available and can readily be employed for physics studies with SModelS.
We discuss the impact of the recent untagged analysis of ${B}^0rightarrow D^{*}lbar{ u}_l$ decays by the Belle Collaboration on the extraction of the CKM element $|V_{cb}|$ and provide updated SM predictions for the $bto ctau u$ observables $R(D^*)$, $P_tau$, and $F_L^{D^*}$. The value of $|V_{cb}|$ that we find is about $2sigma$ from the one from inclusive semileptonic $B$ decays, and is very sensitive to the slope of the form factor at zero recoil which should soon become available from lattice calculations.
We present two equivalent consistency checks of the momentum sum rule for double parton distributions and show the importance of the inclusion of the so-called inhomogeneous term in order to preserve correct longitudinal momentum correlations. We further discuss in some detail the kinematics of the splitting at the basis of the inhomogeneous term and update the double parton distributions evolution equations at different virtualities.
In previous work, we identified an anomalous number of events in the LHC jets+MET searches characterized by low jet multiplicity and low-to-moderate transverse energy variables. Here, we update this analysis with results from a new ATLAS search in the monojet channel which also shows a consistent excess. As before, we find that this monojet excess is well-described by the resonant production of a heavy colored state decaying to a quark and a massive invisible particle. In the combined ATLAS and CMS data, we now find a local (global) preference of 3.3$sigma$ (2.5$sigma$) for the new physics model over the Standard Model-only hypothesis. As the signal regions containing the excess are systematics-limited, we consider additional cuts to enhance the signal-to-background ratio. We show that binning finer in $H_T$ and requiring the jets to be more central can increase $S/B$ by a factor of ${sim} 1.5$.

The transversity was recently extracted from data on the production of hadron pairs in semi-inclusive deep-inelastic scattering. This analysis can be conveniently performed in the framework of collinear factorization where the elementary mechanism is represented by the simple product of transversity and of a suitable chiral-odd function describing the fragmentation of a transversely polarized parton into a pair of hadrons inside the same current jet. The same elementary mechanism was predicted long ago to generate an asymmetry in the azimuthal distribution of the hadron pairs when they are produced in proton-proton collisions with one transversely polarized proton. Recently, the STAR Collaboration has observed this asymmetry. We analyze the impact of these data on our knowledge of transversity and we present its first preliminary extraction from a global fit of all data in hard processes with inclusive di-hadron production.
