We investigate the crossing-symmetry relation between $bto ctau^-bar u$ decay and $bbar cto tau^-bar u$ scattering to derive direct correlations of New Physics in semi-tauonic $B$-meson decays and the mono-tau signature at the LHC ($pptotau_h X$ + MET). Using an exhaustive set of effective operators and heavy mediators we find that the current ATLAS and CMS data constrain scenarios addressing anomalies in $B$-decays. Pure tensor solutions, completed by leptoquark, and right-handed solutions, completed by $W^prime_R$ or leptoquark, are challenged by our analysis. Furthermore, the sensitivity that will be achieved in the high-luminosity phase of the LHC will probe $all$ the possible scenarios that explain the anomalies. Finally, we note that the LHC is also competitive in the $bto u$ transitions and bounds in some cases are currently better than those from $B$ decays.

We study the effective field theory sensitivity of an LHC analysis for the $tau u$ final state with an associated b-jet. To illustrate the improvement due to the b-tagging, we first recast the recent CMS analysis in the $tau u$ channel, using an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb$^{-1}$ at $sqrt{s}=13$ TeV, and provide limits on all the dimension-six effective operators which contribute to the process. The expected limits from the b-tagged analysis are then derived and compared. We find an improvement of approximately $sim 30%$ in the bounds for operators with a b quark. We also discuss in detail possible angular observables to be used as a discriminator between dimension-six operators with different Lorentz structure. Finally, we study the impact of these limits on some simplified scenarios aimed at addressing the observed deviations from the Standard Model in lepton flavor universality ratios of semileptonic B-meson decays. In particular, we compare the collider limits on those scenarios set by our analysis either with or without the b-tagging, assuming an integrated luminosity of 300 fb$^{-1}$, with relevant low-energy flavor measurements.
We present a systematic survey of possible short-distance new-physics effects in (semi)leptonic charged- and neutral-current charmed meson decays. Using the Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT) to analyze the most relevant experimental data at low and high energies, we demonstrate a striking complementarity between charm decays and high invariant mass lepton tails at the LHC. Interestingly enough, high-$p_T$ Drell-Yan data offer competitive constraints on most new physics scenarios. Furthermore, the full set of correlated constraints from $K$, $pi$ and $tau$ decays imposed by $SU(2)_L$ gauge invariance is considered. The bounds from $D_{(s)}$ decays, high-$p_T$ lepton tails and $SU(2)_L$ relations chart the space of the SMEFT affecting semi(leptonic) charm flavor transitions.
This article summarizes recent developments in $Bto D^{(ast)}tau u$ decays. We explain how to extract the tau leptons production properties from the kinematics of its decay products. The focus is on hadronic tau decays, which are most sensitive to the tau polarizations. We present new results for effects of new physics in tau polarization observables and quantify the observation prospects at BELLE II.
In this article, we have predicted the standard model (SM) values of the asymmetric and angular observables in $Bto D^{(ast)}tau u_{tau}$ decays, using the results of the new up-to-date analysis in $Bto D^{(*)}ell u_{ell}$. We have also revisited the SM prediction of the inclusive ratio $mathcal{R}_{X_c}$, and have given its values in different schemes of the charm quark mass. This is the first analysis which includes all the known corrections in the SM. In addition, we have analysed the $bto ctau u_tau$ decay modes in a model-independent framework of effective field theory beyond the standard model. Considering all the possible combinations of the effective operators in $b to c tau u_{tau}$ decays and using the Akaike Information Criterion, we find out the scenarios which can best explain the available data on these channels. In the selected scenarios, best-fit values and correlations of the new parameters are extracted. Using these results, predictions are made on various observables in the exclusive and inclusive semitaunic $b to c $ decays. The graphical correlations between these observables are shown, which are found to be useful in discriminating various new physics scenarios.
The potential of performing a combined analysis of the strangeness-changing decays $tau^{-}to K_{S}pi^{-} u_{tau}$ and $tau^{-}to K^{-}eta u_{tau}$ for unveiling the $K^{*}(1410)$ resonance pole parameters is illustrated. Our study is carried out within the framework of Chiral Perturbation Theory, including resonances as explicit degrees of freedom. Resummation of final state interactions are considered through a dispersive parameterization of the required form factors. A considerable improvement in the determination of the pole position with mass $M_{K^{*}(1410)}=1304pm17$ MeV and width $Gamma_{K^{*}(1410)}=171pm62$ MeV is obtained.
