The isospin equilibration process in multinucleon transfer reaction is investigated by using the improved quantum molecular dynamics model. The collision processes of $^{124}$Xe+$^{208}$Pb at near-barrier energy are studied with different symmetry energy coefficients. We find that neutrons transfer happens earlier than protons. The large symmetry energy promote the transfer of neutrons. The neutron flow from the target to projectile is along the low-density path of neck. The isospin equilibration process in $^{58}$Ni+$^{208}$Pb reaction is also investigated and compared with available experimental data. It shows that $N/Z$ values of the projectile-like products increase rapidly with increasing mass transfer. The complete isospin equilibration events are located in the region of $120<A<150$ which are produced in symmetric fission-type reactions.
The multinucleon transfer reactions near barrier energies has been investigated with a multistep model based on the dinuclear system (DNS) concept, in which the capture of two colliding nuclei, the transfer dynamics and the de-excitation process of primary fragments are described by the analytical formula, the diffusion theory and the statistical model, respectively. The nucleon transfer takes place after forming the DNS and is coupled to the dissipation of relative motion energy and angular momentum by solving a set of microscopically derived master equations within the potential energy surface. Specific reactions of $^{40,48}$Ca+$^{124}$Sn, $^{40}$Ca ($^{40}$Ar, $^{58}$Ni)+$^{232}$Th, $^{40}$Ca ($^{58}$Ni)+$^{238}$U and $^{40,48}$Ca ($^{58}$Ni) +$^{248}$Cm near barrier energies are investigated. It is found that the fragments are produced by the multinucleon transfer reactions with the maximal yields along the $beta$-stability line. The isospin relaxation is particularly significant in the process of fragment formation. The incident energy dependence of heavy target-like fragments in the reaction of $^{58}$Ni+$^{248}$Cm is analyzed thoroughly.
New experimental results for the elastic scattering of 6He on 64Zn at incident energies of 15.0 and 18.0 MeV and 4He at 17.5 MeV along with results already published at 10.0 and 13.6 MeV, are presented. Elastic and alpha experimental cross sections are compared with coupled-reaction-channel, continuum-discretized coupledchannel, and DWBA inclusive-breakup models. The large yield of alpha particles observed at all measured energies can be explained by considering a nonelastic breakup mechanism.
Time-dependent Hartree-Fock (TDHF) theory has achieved a remarkable success in describing and understanding nuclear many-body dynamics from nucleons degrees of freedom. We here report our investigation of multinucleon transfer (MNT) processes employing the TDHF theory. To calculate transfer probabilities for channels specified by the number of protons and neutrons included in reaction products, a particle-number projection (PNP) method has been developed. The PNP method is also used to calculate excitation energies of reaction products. Combined use of the PNP method with a statistical model, we can evaluate MNT cross sections taking account of effects of particle evaporation. Using these methods, we evaluate MNT cross sections for $^{40,48}$Ca+$^{124}$Sn, $^{40}$Ca+$^{208}$Pb, and $^{58}$Ni+$^{208}$Pb reactions. From systematic analyses, we find that cross sections for channels with a large reaction probability are in good agreement with experimental data. However, the agreement becomes less accurate as the number of transferred nucleons increases. Possible directions to improve the description are discussed.
The collision of the doubly-magic nuclei $^{16}$O+$^{208}$Pb is a benchmark in nuclear reaction studies. Our new measurements of back-scattered projectile-like fragments at sub-barrier energies show show that transfer of 2 protons ($2p$) is much more probable than $alpha$-particle transfer. $2p$ transfer probabilities are strongly enhanced compared to expectations for the sequential transfer of two uncorrelated protons; at energies around the fusion barrier absolute probabilities for two proton transfer are similar to those for one proton transfer. This strong enhancement indicates strong $2p$ pairing correlations in $^{16}$O, and suggests evidence for the occurrence of a nuclear supercurrent of two-proton Cooper pairs in this reaction, already at energies well below the fusion barrier.
The classical dynamical model for reactions induced by weakly-bound nuclei at near-barrier energies is developed further. It allows a quantitative study of the role and importance of incomplete fusion dynamics in asymptotic observables, such as the population of high-spin states in reaction products as well as the angular distribution of direct alpha-production. Model calculations indicate that incomplete fusion is an effective mechanism for populating high-spin states, and its contribution to the direct alpha production yield diminishes with decreasing energy towards the Coulomb barrier. It also becomes notably separated in angles from the contribution of no-capture breakup events. This should facilitate the experimental disentanglement of these competing reaction processes.
