We study the generic $p-p^prime$ system in the presence of constant NS 2-form $B_{ij}$ field. We derive properties concerning with the noncommutativity of D-brane worldvolume, the Green functions and the spectrum of this system. In the zero slope limit, a large number of light states appear as the lowest excitations in appropriate cases. We are able to relate the energies of the lowest states after the GSO projection with the configurations of branes at angles. Through analytic continuation, the system is compared with the branes with relative motion.

We construct the most general supersymmetric configuration of D2-branes and D6-branes on a 6-torus. It contains arbitrary numbers of branes at relative U(3) angles. The corresponding supergravity solutions are constructed and expressed in a remarkably simple form, using the complex geometry of the compact space. The spacetime supersymmetry of the configuration is verified explicitly, by solution of the Killing spinor equations. Our configurations can be interpreted as a 16-parameter family of regular extremal black holes in four dimensions. Their entropy is interpreted microscopically by counting the degeneracy of bound states of D-branes. Our result agrees in detail with the prediction for the degeneracy of BPS states in terms of the quartic invariant of the E(7,7) duality group.
We consider black $p$-brane solutions of the low energy string action, computing scalar perturbations. Using standard methods, we derive the wave equations obeyed by the perturbations and treat them analytically and numerically. We have found that tensorial perturbations obtained via a gauge-invariant formalism leads to the same results as scalar perturbations. No instability has been found. Asymptotically, these solutions typically reduce to a $AdS_{(p+2)}times S^{(8-p)}$ space, which, in the framework of Maldacenas conjecture, can be regarded as a gravitational dual to a conformal field theory defined in a $(p+1)$-dimensional flat space-time. The results presented open the possibility of a better understanding the AdS/CFT correspondence, as originally formulated in terms of the relation among brane structures and gauge theories.
Inspired by the recent advances in multiple M2-brane theory, we consider the generalizations of Nahm equations for arbitrary p-algebras. We construct the topological p-algebra quantum mechanics associated to them and we show that this can be obtained as a truncation of the topological p-brane theory previously studied by the authors. The resulting topological p-algebra quantum mechanics is discussed in detail and the relation with the M2-M5 system is pointed out in the p=3 case, providing a geometrical argument for the emergence of the 3-algebra structure in the Bagger-Lambert-Gustavsson theory
This proceeding is based on arXiv:1105.0591 [hep-th] where we consider breaking of supersymmetry in intersecting D-brane configurations by slight deviation of the angles from their supersymmetric values. We compute the masses generated by radiative corrections for the adjoint scalars on the brane world-volumes. In the open string channel, the string two-point function receives contributions only from the infrared limits of N~4 and N~2 supersymmetric configurations, via messengers and their Kaluza-Klein excitations, and leads at leading order to tachyonic directions.
We present an explicit matrix algebra regularization of the algebra of volume-preserving diffeomorphisms of the $n$-torus. That is, we approximate the corresponding classical Nambu brackets using $mathfrak{sl}(N^{lceiltfrac{n}{2}rceil},mathbb{C})$-matrices equipped with the finite bracket given by the completely anti-symmetrized matrix product, such that the classical brackets are retrieved in the $Nrightarrow infty$ limit. We then apply this approximation to the super $4$-brane in $9$ dimensions and give a regularized action in analogy with the matrix regularization of the supermembrane. This action exhibits a reduced gauge symmetry that we discuss from the viewpoint of $L_infty$-algebras in a slight generalization to the construction of Lie $2$-algebras from Bagger-Lambert $3$-algebras.
