We evaluate the fermion propagator in parity-conserving QED_3 with N flavours, in the context of an IR domain approximation. This provides results which are non-perturbative in the loopwise expansion sense. We include fermion-loop effects, and show that they are relevant to the chiral symmetry breaking phenomenon, that can be understood in this context.

We explore the dependence of fermion propagators on the covariant gauge fixing parameter in quantum electrodynamics (QED) with the number of spacetime dimensions kept explicit. Gauge covariance is controlled by the the Landau-Khalatnikov-Fradkin transformation (LKFT). Utilizing its group nature, the LKFT for a fermion propagator in Minkowski space is solved exactly. The special scenario of 3D is used to test claims made for general cases. When renormalized correctly, a simplification of the LKFT in 4D has been achieved with the help of fractional calculus.
We consider a higher derivative effective theory for an Abelian gauge field in three dimensions, which represents the result of integrating out heavy matter fields interacting with a classical gauge field in a parity-conserving way. We retain terms containing up to two derivatives of $F_{mu u}$, but make no assumption about the strength of this field. We then quantize the gauge field, and compute the one-loop effective action for a constant $fmn$. The result is explicitly evaluated for the case of a constant magnetic field.
We apply the exponential operator method to derive the propagator for a fermion immersed within a rigidly rotating environment with cylindrical geometry. Given that the rotation axis provides a preferred direction, Lorentz symmetry is lost and the general solution is not translationally invariant in the radial coordinate. However, under the approximation that the fermion is completely dragged by the vortical motion, valid for large angular velocities, translation invariance is recovered. The propagator can then be written in momentum space. The result is suited to be used applying ordinary Feynman rules for perturbative calculations in momentum space.

We discuss diagonalization of propagator for mixing fermions system based on the eigenvalue problem. The similarity transformation converting matrix propagator into diagonal form is obtained. The suggested diagonalization has simple algebraic properties for on-shell fermions and can be used in renormalization of fermion mixing matrix.
In 1985, Callan and Harvey showed a view of gauge anomaly as a missing current into an extra-dimension, and the total contribution, including the Chern-Simons current in the bulk, is conserved. However in their computation, the edge and bulk contributions are separately evaluated and their cross correlations, which should be relevant at boundary, are simply ignored. This issue has been solved in many approaches. In this work, we revisit this issue with a complete set of eigenstates of free domain-wall Hamiltonian and give the systematic evaluation, easy to take in the higher mass correction and extend to the higher dimension.
