We investigate small$-x$ resummation effects in QCD coefficient functions for $Z_0g$ and $Wg$ fusion processes, and we compare them with the known ones of $gamma g$ type. We find a strong process dependence, that we argue to be due to the possible presence of collinear singularities for either small or large $k$ of the exchanged gluon. For top quark production, we find that the $ggra tbar{t}$ and $Z_0gra tbar{t}$ channels have larger resummation enhancements than the $Wgra tbar{t}$ one.

We present updated results for the production cross sections of slepton pairs and neutralino-chargino pairs at the LHC with next-to-next-to logarithmic precision matched at approximate QCD next-to-next-to leading order. The explored range of masses of the supersymmetric particles are chosen to be relevant for current and future searches at the LHC. We find moderate increases in the invariant mass distributions and integrated cross sections, and substantial reductions in the scale uncertainty of the results.
We investigate enhanced EW corrections to inclusive hard processes in the TeV energy region with emphasis on the small-x situation, in which the hard scale Q is significantly smaller than the available energy sqrt{s}= Q/x. We first propose and justify a general factorization formula in which the (double-log) EW form factor at scale Q^2 is factorized from EW parton distribution functions, which satisfy evolution equations of DGLAP type. We then investigate the small-x behavior of the EW parton distributions including the novel ones for non-vanishing t-channel weak isospin T and we compare it with a BFKL-type approach. In either approach we find that large small-x corrections of order alpha_w log x log Q^2/M^2 (M being the EW symmetry breaking scale) are present only for T=2 and not for T=1. This implies that only transverse WW interactions (coupled to T=2) are affected, while the T=1 components feel just the form factor at scale Q^2.
It is well understood that the leading logarithmic approximation for the amplitudes of high energy processes is insufficient and that the next-to-leading logarithmic effects are very large and lead to instability of the solution. The resummation at low $x$, which includes kinematical constraints and other corrections leads to stable result. Using previously established resummation procedure we study in detail the preasymptotic effects which occur in the solution to the resummed BFKL equation when the energy is not very large. We find that in addition to the well known reduction of the intercept, which governs the energy dependence of the gluon Greens function, resummation leads to the delay of the onset of its small $x$ growth. Moreover the gluon Greens function develops a dip or a plateau in wide range of rapidities, which increases for large scales. The preasymptotic region in the gluon Greens function extends to about $8$ units in rapidity for the transverse scales of the order of $30-100 ; {rm GeV} $. To visualize the expected behavior of physical processes with two equal hard scales we calculate the cross section of the process $gamma^{*}+gamma^{*}to X$ to be probed at future very high-energy electron-positron colliders. We find that at $gamma^*gamma^*$ energies below $100 ; rm GeV$ the BFKL Pomeron leads to smaller value of the cross section than the Born approximation, and only starts to dominate at energies about $100 ; rm GeV$. This pattern is significantly different from the one which we find using LL approximation. We also analyze the transverse momentum contributions to the cross section for different virtualities of the photons and find that the dominant contributions to the integral over the transverse momenta comes from lower values than the the external scales in the process under consideration.
In Kaluza-Klein theories of low-scale quantum gravity, gravitons and isosinglet neutrinos may propagate in a higher-dimensional space with large compact dimensions, whereas all particles of the Standard Model are confined on a (1+3)-dimensional subspace. After compactification of the extra dimensions, the resulting Yukawa couplings of the Kaluza-Klein neutrinos to the lepton doublets become naturally very suppressed by a higher-dimensional volume factor, in agreement with phenomenological observations. We show that one-loop effects induced by Kaluza-Klein neutrinos, albeit tiny individually, act cumulatively in electroweak processes, giving rise to a non-decoupling behaviour for large values of the higher-dimensional Yukawa couplings. Owing to the non-decoupling effects of Kaluza-Klein neutrinos, we can derive stronger constraints on the parameters of the theory that originate from the non-observation of flavour-violating and universality-breaking phenomena, which involve the W and Z bosons, and the e, $mu$ and $tau$ leptons.

We have derived the coefficients of the highest three 1/x-enhanced small-x logarithms of all timelike splitting functions and the coefficient functions for the transverse fragmentation function in one-particle inclusive e^+e^- annihilation at (in principle) all orders in massless perturbative QCD. For the longitudinal fragmentation function we present the respective two highest contributions. These results have been obtained from KLN-related decompositions of the unfactorized fragmentation functions in dimensional regularization and their structure imposed by the mass-factorization theorem. The resummation is found to completely remove the huge small-x spikes present in the fixed-order results for all quantities above, allowing for stable results down to very small values of the momentum fraction and scaling variable x. Our calculations can be extended to (at least) the corresponding as^n ln^(2n-l) x contributions to the above quantities and their counterparts in deep-inelastic scattering.
