We develop the helicity formalism for spin-2 particles and apply it to the case of gravity in flat extra dimensions. We then implement the large extra dimensions scenario of Arkani-Hamed, Dimopoulos and Dvali in the program AMEGIC++, allowing for an easy calculation of arbitrary processes involving the emission or exchange of gravitons. We complete the set of Feynman rules derived by Han, Lykken and Zhang, and perform several consistency checks of our implementation.

We give a brief overview of the kinetic theory for spin-1/2 fermions in Wigner function formulism. The chiral and spin kinetic equations can be derived from equations for Wigner functions. A general Wigner function has 16 components which satisfy 32 coupled equations. For massless fermions, the number of independent equations can be significantly reduced due to the decoupling of left-handed and right-handed particles. It can be proved that out of many components of Wigner functions and their coupled equations, only one kinetic equation for the distribution function is independent. This is called the disentanglement theorem for Wigner functions of chiral fermions. For massive fermions, it turns out that one particle distribution function and three spin distribution functions are independent and satisfy four kinetic equations. Various chiral and spin effects such as chiral magnetic and votical effects, the chiral seperation effect, spin polarization effects can be consistently described in the formalism.

We consider within a generalized QCD factorization approach, the high energy inclusive polarized process p p --> pion + X, including all intrinsic partonic motions. Several new spin and k_T-dependent soft functions appear and contribute to cross sections and spin asymmetries. We present here formal expressions for transverse single spin asymmetries and double longitudinal ones. The transverse single spin asymmetry, A_N, is considered in detail, and all contributions are evaluated numerically. It is shown that the azimuthal phase integrations strongly suppress most contributions, leaving at work mainly the Sivers effect.
Twisted, or vortex, particles refer to freely propagating non-plane-wave states with helicoidal wave fronts. In this state, the particle possesses a non-zero orbital angular momentum with respect to its average propagation direction. Twisted photons and electrons have been experimentally demonstrated, and creation of other particles in twisted states can be anticipated. If brought in collisions, twisted states offer a new degree of freedom to particle physics, and it is timely to analyze what new insights may follow. Here, we theoretically investigate resonance production in twisted photon collisions and twisted $e^+e^-$ annihilation and show that these processes emerge as a completely novel probe of spin and parity-sensitive observables in fully inclusive cross sections with unpolarized initial particles. This is possible because the initial state with a non-zero angular momentum explicitly breaks the left-right symmetry even when averaging over helicities. In particular, we show how one can produce almost $100%$ polarized vector mesons in unpolarized twisted $e^+e^-$ annihilation and how to control its polarization state.
Due to the angular condition in the light-front dynamics (LFD), the extraction of the electromagnetic form factors for spin-1 particles can be uniquely determined taking into account implicitly non-valence and/or the zero-mode contributions to the matrix elements of the electromagnetic current. No matter which matrix elements of the electromagnetic current is used to extract the electromagnetic form factors, the same unique result is obtained. As physical observables, the electromagnetic form factors obtained from matrix elements of the current in LFD must be equal to those obtained in the instant form calculations. Recently, the Babar collaboration cite{Aubert2008} has analyzed the reaction $e^+ e^-rightarrow rho^+ + rho^-$ at $sqrt{s}=10.58 GeV$ to measure the cross section as well as the ratios of the helicity amplitudes $F_{lambdalambda}$. We present our recent analysis of the Babar data for the rho meson considering the angular condition in LFD to put a stringent test on the onset of asymptotic perturbative QCD and predict the energy regime where the subleading contributions are still considerable.
We present a derivation of coherent helicity amplitudes for a particle decaying into multifinal states with nonzero spins. The results show that the coherent amplitudes introduce additional rotations to transform the helicities into a consistent helicity system, which allows us to add helicity amplitudes for different decay chains coherently. These rotations may have significant effects on the interference between the decay chains in the partial wave analysis.
