Let $A$ be a noetherian Koszul Artin-Schelter regular algebra, and let $fin A_2$ be a central regular element of $A$. The quotient algebra $A/(f)$ is usually called a (noncommutative) quadric hypersurface. In this paper, we use the Clifford deformation to study the quadric hypersurfaces obtained from the tensor products. We introduce a notion of simple graded isolated singularity and proved that, if $B/(g)$ is a simple graded isolated singularity of 0-type, then there is an equivalence of triangulated categories $underline{text{mcm}},A/(f)congunderline{text{mcm}},(Aotimes B)/(f+g)$ of the stable categories of maximal Cohen-Macaulay modules. This result may be viewed as a generalization of Kn{o}rrers periodicity theorem. As an application, we study the double branch cover $(A/(f))^#=A[x]/(f+x^2)$ of a noncommutative conic $A/(f)$.
A simplicial complex of dimension $d-1$ is said to be balanced if its graph is $d$-colorable. Juhnke-Kubitzke and Murai proved an analogue of the generalized lower bound theorem for balanced simplicial polytopes. We establish a generalization of their result to balanced triangulations of closed homology manifolds and balanced triangulations of orientable homology manifolds with boundary under an additional assumption that all proper links of these triangulations have the weak Lefschetz property. As a corollary, we show that if $Delta$ is an arbitrary balanced triangulation of any closed homology manifold of dimension $d-1 geq 3$, then $2h_2(Delta) - (d-1)h_1(Delta) geq 4{d choose 2}(tilde{beta}_1(Delta)-tilde{beta}_0(Delta))$, thus verifying a conjecture by Klee and Novik. To prove these results we develop the theory of flag $h$-vectors.
Let R be a unit-regular ring, and let a,b,c in R satisfy aba=aca. If ac and ba are group invertible, we prove that ac is similar to ba. Furthermore, if ac and ba are Drazin invertible, then their Drazin inverses are similar. For any ntimes n complex matrices A,B,C with ABA = ACA ,we prove that AC and BA are similar if and only if their k-powers have the same rank. These generalize the known Flanders theorem proved by Hartwig.
In this paper, first we introduce the notion of a twilled 3-Lie algebra, and construct an $L_infty$-algebra, whose Maurer-Cartan elements give rise to new twilled 3-Lie algebras by twisting. In particular, we recover the Lie $3$-algebra whose Maurer-Cartan elements are O-operators (also called relative Rota-Baxter operators) on 3-Lie algebras. Then we introduce the notion of generalized matched pairs of 3-Lie algebras using generalized representations of 3-Lie algebras, which will give rise to twilled 3-Lie algebras. The usual matched pairs of 3-Lie algebras correspond to a special class of twilled 3-Lie algebras, which we call strict twilled 3-Lie algebras. Finally, we use O-operators to construct explicit twilled 3-Lie algebras, and explain why an $r$-matrix for a 3-Lie algebra can not give rise to a double construction 3-Lie bialgebra. Examples of twilled 3-Lie algebras are given to illustrate the various interesting phenomenon.
Let A denote the ring of differential operators on the affine line with its two usual generators t and d/dt given degrees +1 and -1 respectively. Let X be the stack having coarse moduli space the affine line Spec k[z] and isotropy groups Z/2 at each integer point. Then the category of graded A-modules is equivalent to the category of quasi-coherent sheaves on X. Version 2: corrected typos and deleted appendix at referees suggestion.
In this paper, we exhibit the creation of the maximal integral domain mid(R) generated by a nonzero commutative ring R.
