We report $^{121/123}$Sb nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) and $^{51}$V nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurements on kagome metal CsV$_3$Sb$_5$ with $T_{rm c}=2.5$ K. Both $^{51}$V NMR spectra and $^{121/123}$Sb NQR spectra split after a charge density wave (CDW) transition, which demonstrates a commensurate CDW state. The coexistence of the high temperature phase and the CDW phase between $91$ K and $94$ K manifests that it is a first order phase transition. At low temperature, electric-field-gradient fluctuations diminish and magnetic fluctuations become dominant. Superconductivity emerges in the charge order state. Knight shift decreases and $1/T_{1}T$ shows a Hebel--Slichter coherence peak just below $T_{rm c}$, indicating that CsV$_3$Sb$_5$ is an s-wave superconductor.

$A$V$_3$Sb$_5$ ($A$ = K, Rb, Cs) is a novel kagome superconductor coexisting with the charge density wave (CDW) order. Identifying the structure of the CDW order is crucial for understanding the exotic normal state and superconductivity in this system. Here, we report $^{51}$V nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and $^{121/123}$Sb nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) studies on kagome-metal CsV$_3$Sb$_5$. Below the CDW transition temperature $T_textrm{CDW} sim$ 98 K, an abrupt change of spectra was observed, indicating that the transition is of the first order. By further analysing the spectra, we find that the CDW order is commensurate. And most remarkably, we obtain the first experimental evidence that the charge modulation of the CDW order is of star-of-David pattern and accompanied by an additional charge modulation in bulk below $T^* sim$ 40 K. Our results revealing the unconventional CDW order provide new insights into $A$V$_3$Sb$_5$.
We report the $^{121/123}$Sb-NMR/nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) measurements on the newly-discovered superconductor BaTi$_2$Sb$_2$O with a two-dimensional Ti$_2$O square-net layer formed with Ti$^{3+}$ (3$d^1$). NQR measurements revealed that the in-plane four-fold symmetry is broken at the Sb site below $T_{rm A} sim$ 40 K, without an internal field appearing at the Sb site. These exclude a spin-density wave (SDW)/ charge density wave (CDW) ordering with incommensurate correlations, but can be understood with the commensurate CDW ordering at $T_{rm A}$. The spin-lattice relaxation rate $1/T_1$, measured at the four-fold symmetry breaking site, decreases below superconducting (SC) transition temperature $T_{rm c}$, indicative of the microscopic coexistence of superconductivity and the CDW/SDW phase below $T_{rm A}$. Furthermore, $1/T_1$ of $^{121}$Sb-NQR shows a coherence peak just below $T_{rm c}$ and decreases exponentially at low temperatures. These results are in sharp contrast with those in cuprate and iron-based superconductors, and strongly suggest that its SC symmetry is classified to an ordinary s-wave state.
We report on a detailed study of the optical properties of CsV$_{3}$Sb$_{5}$ at a large number of temperatures above and below the charge-density-wave (CDW) transition. Above the CDW transition, the low-frequency optical conductivity reveals two Drude components with distinct widths. An examination of the band structure allows us to ascribe the narrow Drude to multiple light and Dirac bands, and the broad Drude to the heavy bands near the $M$ points which form saddle points near the Fermi level. Upon entering the CDW state, the opening of the CDW gap is clearly observed. A large portion of the broad Drude is removed by the gap, whereas the narrow Drude is not affected. Meanwhile, an absorption peak associated with interband transitions near the saddle points shifts to higher energy and grows in weight. These observations are consistent with the scenario that the CDW in CsV$_{3}$Sb$_{5}$ is driven by nesting of Fermi surfaces near the saddle points at $M$.
Pressure evolution of the superconducting kagome metal CsV$_3$Sb$_5$ is studied with single-crystal x-ray diffraction and density-functional band-structure calculations. A highly anisotropic compression observed up to 5 GPa is ascribed to the fast shrinkage of the Cs-Sb distances and suppression of Cs rattling motion. This prevents Sb displacements required to stabilize the three-dimensional charge-density-wave (CDW) state and elucidates the disappearance of the CDW already at 2 GPa despite only minor changes in the electronic structure. At higher pressures, vanadium bands still change only marginally, whereas antimony bands undergo a major reconstruction caused by the gradual formation of the interlayer Sb-Sb bonds. Our results highlight the central role of Sb atoms in the stabilization of a three-dimensional CDW and re-entrant superconductivity of a kagome metal.
The recently discovered kagome metal series $A$V$_3$Sb$_5$ ($A$=K, Rb, Cs) exhibits topologically nontrivial band structures, chiral charge order and superconductivity, presenting a unique platform for realizing exotic electronic states. The nature of the superconducting state and the corresponding pairing symmetry are key questions that demand experimental clarification. Here, using a technique based on the tunneling diode oscillator, the magnetic penetration depth $Deltalambda(T)$ of CsV$_3$Sb$_5$ was measured down to 0.07 K. A clear exponential behavior in $Deltalambda(T)$ with marked deviations from a $T$ or $T^2$ temperature dependence is observed at low temperatures, indicating a deficiency of nodal quasiparticles. Temperature dependence of the superfluid density and electronic specific heat can be described by two-gap $s$-wave superconductivity, consistent with the presence of multiple Fermi surfaces in CsV$_3$Sb$_5$. These results evidence nodeless superconductivity in CsV$_3$Sb$_5$ under ambient pressure, and constrain the allowed pairing symmetry.
