We consider the twistor space ${cal P}^6cong{mathbb R}^4{times}{mathbb C}P^1$ of ${mathbb R}^4$ with a non-integrable almost complex structure ${cal J}$ such that the canonical bundle of the almost complex manifold $({cal P}^6, {cal J})$ is trivial. It is shown that ${cal J}$-holomorphic Chern-Simons theory on a real $(6|2)$-dimensional graded extension ${cal P}^{6|2}$ of the twistor space ${cal P}^6$ is equivalent to self-dual Yang-Mills theory on Euclidean space ${mathbb R}^4$ with Lorentz invariant action. It is also shown that adding a local term to a Chern-Simons-type action on ${cal P}^{6|2}$, one can extend it to a twistor action describing full Yang-Mills theory.

There is evidence that one can compute tree level super Yang-Mills amplitudes using either connected or completely disconnected curves in twistor space. We argue that the two computations are equivalent, if the integration contours are chosen in a specific way, by showing that they can both be reduced to the same integral over a moduli space of singular curves. We also formulate a class of new ``intermediate prescriptions to calculate the same amplitudes.
We explain some details of the construction of composite operators in N=4 SYM that we have elaborated earlier in the context of Lorentz harmonic chiral (LHC) superspace. We give a step-by-step elementary derivation and show that the result coincides with the recent hypothesis put forward in arXiv:1603.04471 within the twistor approach. We provide the appropriate LHC-to-twistors dictionary.
We study the spectrum of anomalous dimensions of operators dual to giant graviton branes. The operators considered belong to the su$(2|3)$ sector of ${cal N}=4$ super Yang-Mills theory, have a bare dimension $sim N$ and are a linear combination of restricted Schur polynomials with $psim O(1)$ long rows or columns. In the same way that the operator mixing problem in the planar limit can be mapped to an integrable spin chain, we find that our problem maps to particles hopping on a lattice. The detailed form of the model is in precise agreement with the expected world volume dynamics of $p$ giant graviton branes, which is a U$(p)$ Yang-Mills theory. The lattice model we find has a number of noteworthy features. It is a lattice model with all-to-all sites interactions and quenched disorder.

We discuss bosonic and supersymmetric Yang-Mills matrix models with compact semi-simple gauge group. We begin by finding convergence conditions for the partition and correlation functions. Moving on, we specialise to the SU(N) models with large N. In both the Yang-Mills and cohomological formulations, we find all quantities which are invariant under the supercharges. Finally, we apply the deformation method of Moore, Nekrasov and Shatashvili directly to the Yang-Mills model. We find a deformation of the action which generates mass terms for all the matrix fields whilst preserving some supersymmetry. This allows us to rigorously integrate over a BRST quartet and arrive at the well known formula of MNS.
We consider Yang--Mills theory with a compact structure group $G$ on four-dimensional de Sitter space dS$_4$. Using conformal invariance, we transform the theory from dS$_4$ to the finite cylinder ${cal I}times S^3$, where ${cal I}=(-pi/2, pi/2)$ and $S^3$ is the round three-sphere. By considering only bundles $Pto{cal I}times S^3$ which are framed over the boundary $partial{cal I}times S^3$, we introduce additional degrees of freedom which restrict gauge transformations to be identity on $partial{cal I}times S^3$. We study the consequences of the framing on the variation of the action, and on the Yang--Mills equations. This allows for an infinite-dimensional moduli space of Yang--Mills vacua on dS$_4$. We show that, in the low-energy limit, when momentum along ${cal I}$ is much smaller than along $S^3$, the Yang--Mills dynamics in dS$_4$ is approximated by geodesic motion in the infinite-dimensional space ${cal M}_{rm vac}$ of gauge-inequivalent Yang--Mills vacua on $S^3$. Since ${cal M}_{rm vac}cong C^infty (S^3, G)/G$ is a group manifold, the dynamics is expected to be integrable.
