In high-energy leptonic collisions, such as at a multi-TeV muon collider, the collinear splittings of the electroweak (EW) gauge bosons and leptons are the dominant phenomena, and the scattering processes should thus be formulated in terms of the EW parton distribution functions (EW PDFs). We complete this formalism in the Standard Model to include the QCD sector and evaluate the quark and gluon PDFs inside a lepton at the double-log accuracy. The splittings of the photon and subsequently the quarks and gluons control the quark/gluon PDFs below the EW scale. The massive gauge bosons lead to substantial contributions at high scales. The jet production cross section can reach the order of a few nb (50 pb) in $e^+e^-$ ($mu^+mu^-$) collisions, at the TeV c.m. energies with a moderate acceptance cut, that governs the overall event shape up to about $p_T^j sim 60$ GeV.

The Quark Gluon String Model (QGSM) reproduces well the global characteristics of the $pp$ collisions at RHIC and LHC, e.g., the pseudorapidity and transverse momenta distributions at different centralities. The main goal of this work is to employ the Monte Carlo QGSM for description of femtoscopic characteristics in $pp$ collisions at RHIC and LHC. The study is concentrated on the low multiplicity and multiplicity averaged events, where no collective effects are expected. The different procedures for fitting the one-dimensional correlation functions of pions are studied and compared with the space-time distributions extracted directly from the model. Particularly, it is shown that the double Gaussian fit reveals the contributions coming separately from resonances and from directly produced particles. The comparison of model results with the experimental data favors decrease of particle formation time with rising collision energy.
We investigate the effects of gluon number fluctuations on the total $gammagamma$, $gamma^*gamma^*$ cross sections and the photon structure function $F_2^gamma(x,Q^2)$. Considering a model which relates the dipole-dipole and dipole-hadron scattering amplitudes, we estimate these observables by using event-by-event and physical amplitudes. We demonstrate that both analyses are able to describe the LEP data, but predict different behaviours for the observables at high energies, with the gluon fluctuations effects decreasing the cross sections. We conclude that the study of $gamma gamma$ interactions can be useful to constrain the QCD dynamics.

High-energy behavior of total cross sections is discussed in experiment and theory. Origin and meaning of the Froissart bounds are described and explained. Violation of the familiar log-squared bound appears to not violate unitarity (contrary to the common opinion), but correspond to rapid high-energy increase of the amplitude in nonphysical regions.
We present the extraction of the temperature by analyzing the charged particle transverse momentum spectra in lead-lead (Pb-Pb) and proton-proton (${bf pp}$) collisions at LHC energies from the ALICE Collaboration using the Color String Percolation Model (CSPM). From the measured energy density ${bm varepsilon}$ and the temperature T the dimensionless quantity ${bm varepsilon/}T^{4}$ is obtained to get the degrees of freedom (DOF), ${bm varepsilon}/T^{4}$ = DOF ${ pi^{2}}$/30. We observe for the first time a two-step behavior in the increase of DOF, characteristic of deconfinement, above the hadronization temperature at temperature $sim$ 210 MeV for both Pb-Pb and ${bf pp}$ collisions and a sudden increase to the ideal gas value of $sim $ 47 corresponding to three quark flavors in the case of Pb-Pb collisions.
The diphoton channel at lepton colliders, $e^+e^- (mu^+mu^-) to gamma gamma$, has a remarkable feature that the leading new physics contribution comes only from dimension-eight operators. This contribution is subject to a set of positivity bounds, derived from fundamental principles of Quantum Field Theory, such as unitarity, locality and analyticity. These positivity bounds are thus applicable to the most direct observable -- the diphoton cross sections. This unique feature provides a clear, robust, and unambiguous test of these principles. We estimate the capability of various future lepton colliders in probing the dimension-eight operators and testing the positivity bounds in this channel. We show that positivity bounds can lift certain degeneracies among the effective operators and significantly change the perspectives of a global analysis. We also perform a combined analysis of the $gammagamma/Zgamma/ZZ$ processes in the high energy limit and point out the important interplay among them.
