We show that the correlator of three large charge operators with minimal scaling dimension can be computed semiclassically in CFTs with a $U(1)$ symmetry for arbitrary fixed values of the ratios of their charges. We obtain explicitly the OPE coefficient from the numerical solution of a nonlinear boundary value problem in the conformal superfluid EFT in $3d$. The result applies in all three-dimensional CFTs with a $U(1)$ symmetry whose large charge sector is a superfluid.
We study the scaling dimension $Delta_{phi^n}$ of the operator $phi^n$ where $phi$ is the fundamental complex field of the $U(1)$ model at the Wilson-Fisher fixed point in $d=4-varepsilon$. Even for a perturbatively small fixed point coupling $lambda_*$, standard perturbation theory breaks down for sufficiently large $lambda_*n$. Treating $lambda_* n$ as fixed for small $lambda_*$ we show that $Delta_{phi^n}$ can be successfully computed through a semiclassical expansion around a non-trivial trajectory, resulting in $$ Delta_{phi^n}=frac{1}{lambda_*}Delta_{-1}(lambda_* n)+Delta_{0}(lambda_* n)+lambda_* Delta_{1}(lambda_* n)+ldots $$ We explicitly compute the first two orders in the expansion, $Delta_{-1}(lambda_* n)$ and $Delta_{0}(lambda_* n)$. The result, when expanded at small $lambda_* n$, perfectly agrees with all available diagrammatic computations. The asymptotic at large $lambda_* n$ reproduces instead the systematic large charge expansion, recently derived in CFT. Comparison with Monte Carlo simulations in $d=3$ is compatible with the obvious limitations of taking $varepsilon=1$, but encouraging.
We extend the Operator Product Expansion for Null Polygon Wilson loops to the Mason-Skinner-Caron-Huot super loop, dual to non MHV gluon amplitudes. We explain how the known tree level amplitudes can be promoted into an infinite amount of data at any loop order in the OPE picture. As an application, we re-derive all one loop NMHV six gluon amplitudes by promoting their tree level expressions. We also present some new all loops predictions for these amplitudes.
We formulate an action principle for the operator product expansion (OPE) describing how a given OPE coefficient changes under a deformation induced by a marginal or relevant operator. Our action principle involves no ad-hoc regulator or renormalization and applies to general (Euclidean) quantum field theories. It implies a natural definition of the renormalization group flow for the OPE coefficients and of coupling constants. When applied to the case of conformal theories, the action principle gives a system of coupled dynamical equations for the conformal data. The last result has also recently been derived (without considering tensor structures) independently by Behan (arXiv:1709.03967) using a different argument. Our results were previously announced and outlined at the meetings In memoriam Rudolf Haag in September 2016 and the Wolfhart Zimmermann memorial symposium in May 2017.
We derive a nonperturbative, convergent operator product expansion (OPE) for null-integrated operators on the same null plane in a CFT. The objects appearing in the expansion are light-ray operators, whose matrix elements can be computed by the generalized Lorentzian inversion formula. For example, a product of average null energy (ANEC) operators has an expansion in the light-ray operators that appear in the stress-tensor OPE. An important application is to collider event shapes. The light-ray OPE gives a nonperturbative expansion for event shapes in special functions that we call celestial blocks. As an example, we apply the celestial block expansion to energy-energy correlators in N=4 Super Yang-Mills theory. Using known OPE data, we find perfect agreement with previous results both at weak and strong coupling, and make new predictions at weak coupling through 4 loops (NNNLO).
We study a product of null-integrated local operators $mathcal{O}_1$ and $mathcal{O}_2$ on the same null plane in a CFT. Such null-integrated operators transform like primaries in a fictitious $d-2$ dimensional CFT in the directions transverse to the null integrals. We give a complete description of the OPE in these transverse directions. The terms with low transverse spin are light-ray operators with spin $J_1+J_2-1$. The terms with higher transverse spin are primary descendants of light-ray operators with higher spins $J_1+J_2-1+n$, constructed using special conformally-invariant differential operators that appear precisely in the kinematics of the light-ray OPE. As an example, the OPE between average null energy operators contains light-ray operators with spin $3$ (as described by Hofman and Maldacena), but also novel terms with spin $5,7,9,$ etc.. These new terms are important for describing energy two-point correlators in non-rotationally-symmetric states, and for computing multi-point energy correlators. We check our formulas in a non-rotationally-symmetric energy correlator in $mathcal{N}=4$ SYM, finding perfect agreement.
