We present a non-iterative algorithm to reconstruct the isotropic acoustic wave speed from the measurement of the Neumann-to-Dirichlet map. The algorithm is designed based on the boundary control method and involves only computations that are stable. We prove the convergence of the algorithm and present its numerical implementation. The effectiveness of the algorithm is validated on both constant speed and variable speed, with full and partial boundary measurement as well as different levels of noise.

In this article, stability estimates are given for the determination of the zeroth-order bounded perturbations of the biharmonic operator when the boundary Neumann measurements are made on the whole boundary and on slightly more than half the boundary, respectively. For the case of measurements on the whole boundary, the stability estimates are of ln-type and for the case of measurements on slightly more than half of the boundary, we derive estimates that are of ln ln-type.

The Initial-Boundary Value Problem for the heat equation is solved by using a new algorithm based on a random walk on heat balls. Even if it represents a sophisticated generalization of the Walk on Spheres (WOS) algorithm introduced to solve the Dirich-let problem for Laplaces equation, its implementation is rather easy. The definition of the random walk is based on a new mean value formula for the heat equation. The convergence results and numerical examples permit to emphasize the efficiency and accuracy of the algorithm.
Considering the second boundary value problem of the Lagrangian mean curvature equation, we obtain the existence and uniqueness of the smooth uniformly convex solution, which generalizes the Brendle-Warrens theorem about minimal Lagrangian diffeomorphism in Euclidean metric space.
We introduce a fast iterative non-local shrinkage algorithm to recover MRI data from undersampled Fourier measurements. This approach is enabled by the reformulation of current non-local schemes as an alternating algorithm to minimize a global criterion. The proposed algorithm alternates between a non-local shrinkage step and a quadratic subproblem. We derive analytical shrinkage rules for several penalties that are relevant in non-local regularization. The redundancy in the searches used to evaluate the shrinkage steps are exploited using filtering operations. The resulting algorithm is observed to be considerably faster than current alternating non-local algorithms. The comparisons of the proposed scheme with state-of-the-art regularization schemes show a considerable reduction in alias artifacts and preservation of edges.
In this paper we provide a representation formula for boundary voltage perturbations caused by internal conductivity inhomogeneities of low volume fraction in a simplified {em monodomain model} describing the electric activity of the heart. We derive such a result in the case of a nonlinear problem. Our long-term goal is the solution of the inverse problem related to the detection of regions affected by heart ischemic disease, whose position and size are unknown. We model the presence of ischemic regions in the form of small inhomogeneities. This leads to the study of a boundary value problem for a semilinear elliptic equation. We first analyze the well-posedness of the problem establishing some key energy estimates. These allow us to derive rigorously an asymptotic formula of the boundary potential perturbation due to the presence of the inhomogeneities, following an approach similar to the one introduced by Capdeboscq and Vogelius in cite{capvoge} in the case of the linear conductivity equation. Finally, we propose some ideas of the reconstruction procedure that might be used to detect the inhomogeneities.
