In this paper, we study Dorroh extensions of bialgebras and Hopf algebras. Let $(H,I)$ be both a Dorroh pair of algebras and a Dorroh pair of coalgebras. We give necessary and sufficient conditions for $Hltimes_dI$ to be a bialgebra and a Hopf algebra, respectively. We also describe all ideals of Dorroh extensions of algebras and subcoalgebras of Dorroh extensions of coalgebras and compute these ideals and subcoalgebras for some concrete examples.
In this article, we study Dorroh extensions of algebras and Dorroh extensions of coalgebras. Their structures are described. Some properties of these extensions are presented. We also introduce the finite duals of algebras and modules which are not necessarily unital. Using these finite duals, we determine the dual relations between the two kinds of extensions.
It will be seen that if $H$ is a weak Hopf algebra in the definition of coaction of weak bialgebras on coalgebras cite{Wang}, then a definition property is suppressed giving rise to the (global) coactions of weak Hopf algebras on coalgebras. The next step will be introduce the more general notion of partial coactions of weak Hopf algebras on coalgebras as well as a family of examples via a fixed element on the weak Hopf algebra, illustrating both definitions: global and partial. Moreover, it will also be presented how to obtain a partial comodule coalgebra from a global one via projections, giving another way to find examples of partial coactions of weak Hopf algebras on coalgebras. In addition, the weak smash coproduct cite{Wang} will be studied and it will be seen under what conditions it is possible to generate a weak Hopf algebra structure from the coproduct and the counit defined on it. Finally, a dual relationship between the structures of partial action and partial coaction of a weak Hopf algebra on a coalgebra will be established.
A duality theorem of the bounded derived category of quasi-finite comodules over an artinian coalgebra is established. Let $A$ be a noetherian complete basic semiperfect algebra over an algebraically closed field, and $C$ be its dual coalgebra. If $A$ is Artin-Schelter regular, then the local cohomology of $A$ is isomorphic to a shift of twisted bimodule ${}_1C_{sigma^*}$ with $sigma$ a coalgebra automorphism. This yields that the balanced dualinzing complex of $A$ is a shift of the twisted bimodule ${}_{sigma^*}A_1$. If $sigma$ is an inner automorphism, then $A$ is Calabi-Yau.
This is an old paper put here for archeological purposes. We compute the second cohomology of current Lie algebras of the form $Lotimes A$, where $L$ belongs to some class of Lie algebras which includes classical simple and Zassenhaus algebras, and of some modular semisimple Lie algebras. The results are largely superseded by subsequent papers, though, perhaps, some tricks and observations used here remain of minor interest.
In this paper we study the theory of cleft extensions for a weak bialgebra H. Among other results, we determine when two unitary crossed products of an algebra A by H are equivalent and we prove that if H is a weak Hopf algebra, then the categories of H-cleft extensions of an algebra A, and of unitary crossed products of A by H, are equivalent.
