The notion of crossed product by a coquasi-bialgebra H is introduced and studied. The resulting crossed product is an algebra in the monoidal category of right H-comodules. We give an interpretation of the crossed product as an action of a monoidal category. In particular, necessary and sufficient conditions for two crossed products to be equivalent are provided. Then, two structure theorems for coquasi Hopf modules are given. First, these are relative Hopf modules over the crossed product. Second, the category of coquasi-Hopf modules is trivial, namely equivalent to the category of modules over the starting associative algebra. In connection the crossed product, we recall the notion of a cleft extension over a coquasi-Hopf algebra. A Morita context of Hom spaces is constructed in order to explain these extensions, which are shown to be equivalent with crossed product with invertible cocycle. At the end, we give a complete description of all cleft extensions by the non-trivial coquasi-Hopf algebras of dimension two and three.
In this paper, we study the representations of the Hopf-Ore extensions $kG(chi^{-1}, a, 0)$ of group algebra $kG$, where $k$ is an algebraically closed field. We classify all finite dimensional simple $kG(chi^{-1}, a, 0)$-modules under the assumption $|chi|=infty$ and $|chi|=|chi(a)|<infty$ respectively, and all finite dimensional indecomposable $kG(chi^{-1}, a, 0)$-modules under the assumption that $kG$ is finite dimensional and semisimple, and $|chi|=|chi(a)|$. Moreover, we investigate the decomposition rules for the tensor product modules over $kG(chi^{-1}, a, 0)$ when char$(k)$=0. Finally, we consider the representations of some Hopf-Ore extension of the dihedral group algebra $kD_n$, where $n=2m$, $m>1$ odd, and char$(k)$=0. The Grothendieck ring and the Green ring of the Hopf-Ore extension are described respectively in terms of generators and relations.
It will be seen that if $H$ is a weak Hopf algebra in the definition of coaction of weak bialgebras on coalgebras cite{Wang}, then a definition property is suppressed giving rise to the (global) coactions of weak Hopf algebras on coalgebras. The next step will be introduce the more general notion of partial coactions of weak Hopf algebras on coalgebras as well as a family of examples via a fixed element on the weak Hopf algebra, illustrating both definitions: global and partial. Moreover, it will also be presented how to obtain a partial comodule coalgebra from a global one via projections, giving another way to find examples of partial coactions of weak Hopf algebras on coalgebras. In addition, the weak smash coproduct cite{Wang} will be studied and it will be seen under what conditions it is possible to generate a weak Hopf algebra structure from the coproduct and the counit defined on it. Finally, a dual relationship between the structures of partial action and partial coaction of a weak Hopf algebra on a coalgebra will be established.
Let k be a commutative algebra with the field of the rational numbers included in k and let (E,p,i) be a cleft extension of A. We obtain a new mixed complex, simpler than the canonical one, giving the Hochschild and cyclic homologies of E relative to ker(p). This complex resembles the canonical reduced mixed complex of an augmented algebra. We begin the study of our complex showing that it has a harmonic decomposition like to the one considered by Cuntz and Quillen for the normalized mixed complex of an algebra.
Let $H$ be a weak Hopf algebra that is a finitely generated module over its affine center. We show that $H$ has finite self-injective dimension and so the Brown--Goodearl Conjecture holds in this special weak Hopf setting.
