Let $(mathbb M, d,mu)$ be a metric measure space with upper and lower densities: $$ begin{cases} |||mu|||_{beta}:=sup_{(x,r)in mathbb Mtimes(0,infty)} mu(B(x,r))r^{-beta}<infty; |||mu|||_{beta^{star}}:=inf_{(x,r)in mathbb Mtimes(0,infty)} mu(B(x,r))r^{-beta^{star}}>0, end{cases} $$ where $beta, beta^{star}$ are two positive constants which are less than or equal to the Hausdorff dimension of $mathbb M$. Assume that $p_t(cdot,cdot)$ is a heat kernel on $mathbb M$ satisfying Gaussian upper estimates and $mathcal L$ is the generator of the semigroup associated with $p_t(cdot,cdot)$. In this paper, via a method independent of Fourier transform, we establish the decay estimates for the kernels of the fractional heat semigroup ${e^{-t mathcal{L}^{alpha}}}_{t>0}$ and the operators ${{mathcal{L}}^{theta/2} e^{-t mathcal{L}^{alpha}}}_{t>0}$, respectively. By these estimates, we obtain the regularity for the Cauchy problem of the fractional dissipative equation associated with $mathcal L$ on $(mathbb M, d,mu)$. Moreover, based on the geometric-measure-theoretic analysis of a new $L^p$-type capacity defined in $mathbb{M}times(0,infty)$, we also characterize a nonnegative Randon measure $ u$ on $mathbb Mtimes(0,infty)$ such that $R_alpha L^p(mathbb M)subseteq L^q(mathbb Mtimes(0,infty), u)$ under $(alpha,p,q)in (0,1)times(1,infty)times(1,infty)$, where $u=R_alpha f$ is the weak solution of the fractional diffusion equation $(partial_t+ mathcal{L}^alpha)u(t,x)=0$ in $mathbb Mtimes(0,infty)$ subject to $u(0,x)=f(x)$ in $mathbb M$.

In this paper, we investigate pointwise time analyticity of solutions to fractional heat equations in the settings of $mathbb{R}^d$ and a complete Riemannian manifold $mathrm{M}$. On one hand, in $mathbb{R}^d$, we prove that any solution $u=u(t,x)$ to $u_t(t,x)-mathrm{L}_alpha^{kappa} u(t,x)=0$, where $mathrm{L}_alpha^{kappa}$ is a nonlocal operator of order $alpha$, is time analytic in $(0,1]$ if $u$ satisfies the growth condition $|u(t,x)|leq C(1+|x|)^{alpha-epsilon}$ for any $(t,x)in (0,1]times mathbb{R}^d$ and $epsilonin(0,alpha)$. We also obtain pointwise estimates for $partial_t^kp_alpha(t,x;y)$, where $p_alpha(t,x;y)$ is the fractional heat kernel. Furthermore, under the same growth condition, we show that the mild solution is the unique solution. On the other hand, in a manifold $mathrm{M}$, we also prove the time analyticity of the mild solution under the same growth condition and the time analyticity of the fractional heat kernel, when $mathrm{M}$ satisfies the Poincare inequality and the volume doubling condition. Moreover, we also study the time and space derivatives of the fractional heat kernel in $mathbb{R}^d$ using the method of Fourier transform and contour integrals. We find that when $alphain (0,1]$, the fractional heat kernel is time analytic at $t=0$ when $x eq 0$, which differs from the standard heat kernel. As corollaries, we obtain sharp solvability condition for the backward fractional heat equation and time analyticity of some nonlinear fractional heat equations with power nonlinearity of order $p$. These results are related to those in [8] and [11] which deal with local equations.

We consider time fractional parabolic equations in both divergence and non-divergence form when the leading coefficients $a^{ij}$ are measurable functions of $(t,x_1)$ except for $a^{11}$ which is a measurable function of either $t$ or $x_1$. We obtain the solvability in Sobolev spaces of the equations in the whole space, on a half space, or on a partially bounded domain. The proofs use a level set argument, a scaling argument, and embeddings in fractional parabolic Sobolev spaces for which we give a direct and elementary proof.
In this paper we introduce and study semigroups of operators on spaces of fuzzy-number-valued functions, and various applications to fuzzy differential equations are presented. Starting from the space of fuzzy numbers, many new spaces sharing the same properties are introduced. We derive basic operator theory results on these spaces and new results in the theory of semigroups of linear operators on fuzzy-number kind spaces. The theory we develop is used to solve classical fuzzy systems of differential equations, including, for example, the fuzzy Cauchy problem and the fuzzy wave equation. These tools allow us to obtain explicit solutions to fuzzy initial value problems which bear explicit formulas similar to the crisp case, with some additional fuzzy terms which in the crisp case disappear. The semigroup method displays a clear advantage over other methods available in the literature (i.e., the level set method, the differential inclusions method and other fuzzification methods of the real-valued solution) in the sense that the solutions can be easily constructed, and that the method can be applied to a larger class of fuzzy differential equations that can be transformed into an abstract Cauchy problem.
We study existence, uniqueness, and regularity properties of the Dirichlet problem related to fractional Dirichlet energy minimizers in a complete doubling metric measure space $(X,d_X,mu_X)$ satisfying a $2$-Poincare inequality. Given a bounded domain $Omegasubset X$ with $mu_X(XsetminusOmega)>0$, and a function $f$ in the Besov class $B^theta_{2,2}(X)cap L^2(X)$, we study the problem of finding a function $uin B^theta_{2,2}(X)$ such that $u=f$ in $XsetminusOmega$ and $mathcal{E}_theta(u,u)le mathcal{E}_theta(h,h)$ whenever $hin B^theta_{2,2}(X)$ with $h=f$ in $XsetminusOmega$. We show that such a solution always exists and that this solution is unique. We also show that the solution is locally Holder continuous on $Omega$, and satisfies a non-local maximum and strong maximum principle. Part of the results in this paper extend the work of Caffarelli and Silvestre in the Euclidean setting and Franchi and Ferrari in Carnot groups.
In this paper, we develop fast procedures for solving linear systems arising from discretization of ordinary and partial differential equations with Caputo fractional derivative w.r.t time variable. First, we consider a finite difference scheme to solve a two-sided fractional ordinary equation. Furthermore, we present a fast solution technique to accelerate Toeplitz matrix-vector multiplications arising from finite difference discretization. This fast solution technique is based on a fast Fourier transform and depends on the special structure of coefficient matrices, and it helps to reduce the computational work from $O(N^{3})$ required by traditional methods to $O(Nlog^{2}N)$ and the memory requirement from $O(N^{2})$ to $O(N)$ without using any lossy compression, where $N$ is the number of unknowns. Two finite difference schemes to solve time fractional hyperbolic equations with different fractional order $gamma$ are considered. We present a fast solution technique depending on the special structure of coefficient matrices by rearranging the order of unknowns. It helps to reduce the computational work from $O(N^2M)$ required by traditional methods to $O(N$log$^{2}N)$ and the memory requirement from $O(NM)$ to $O(N)$ without using any lossy compression, where $N=tau^{-1}$ and $tau$ is the size of time step, $M=h^{-1}$ and $h$ is the size of space step. Importantly, a fast method is employed to solve the classical time fractional diffusion equation with a lower coast at $O(MN$log$^2N)$, where the direct method requires an overall computational complexity of $O(N^2M)$. Moreover, the applicability and accuracy of the scheme are demonstrated by numerical experiments to support our theoretical analysis.
