The existence of magnetic monopoles, also predicted in some GUT theories, would symmetrise Maxwell equations and explain the charge quantisation. Searches for them are being performed in cosmic telescopes as well as in collider experiments, such as MoEDAL and ATLAS. In this report, we focus on the, least explored, photon-fusion mechanism, yet Drell-Yan results are discussed, too. Cross sections for monopoles of spin 0, 1/2 and 1 for an effective monopole-velocity-dependent magnetic charge are presented. For spin-1/2 and spin-1 monopoles, a magnetic-moment term is included, which is treated as a new phenomenological parameter and, together with the velocity-dependent coupling, allows for a perturbative treatment of the cross-section calculation. We present an appropriate implementation of photon-fusion and Drell-Yan processes into MadGraph UFO models, aimed to serve as a useful tool in monopole searches at LHC, especially for photon fusion, given that it has not been considered by experimental collaborations recently. Moreover, the experimental implications of such perturbatively reliable monopole searches are discussed.

In our work: 0903.2612, we calculate the production rate of single top-Higgs boson in the TC2 model which is a modified version of the original top-technicolor model. The similar process was discussed in arXiv:hep-ph/9905347v2. The TC2 model, as we discussed in the introduction part remedies some shortcomings and loophole of the old version. The top-Higgs in the TC2 model is a mixture of the top-Higgs of the toptechnicolor model and that of the ETC model, thus a parameter $epsilon$ is introduced to denote the mixture. Moreover, we vary the mass range of the top-Higgs within 300 to 800 GeV while in arXiv:hep-ph/9905347v2, the mass range was taken as 200 to 400 GeV. In the work, our numerical results show that the production rate of single top-Higgs in the TC2 model is very close to that in the toptecnicolor model within the mass range of 200 to 400 GeV. This manifests that change from the original toptechnicolor model to the new TC2 version does not much affect the production rate of the top-Higgs even though the two top-Higgs in the two models are different. Beyond the 400 GeV, even the TC2 model predicts a negligible production rate at LHC. Since the phenomenological change is indeed not obvious, there is not much new to report. Even though the two models are somehow different, we believe that the result is not worth publishing. Therefore we decide to withdraw our manuscript.
Next-to-leading order predictions matched to parton showers are compared with recent ATLAS data on inclusive photon production and CMS data on associated photon and jet production in pp and pPb collisions at different centre-of-mass energies of the LHC. We find good agreement and, as expected, considerably reduced scale uncertainties compared to previous theoretical calculations. Predictions are made for the ratio of inclusive photons over decay photons $R_gamma$, an important quantity to evaluate the significance of additional photon sources, e.g. thermal radiation from a Quark-Gluon-Plasma, and for distributions in the parton momentum fraction in lead ions $x_{rm Pb}^{rm obs}$, that could be determined by ALICE, ATLAS, CMS and LHCb in ongoing analyses of photon+jet production in pPb collisions at $sqrt{s_{NN}}=5.02$ TeV. These data should have an important impact on the determination of nuclear effects such as shadowing at low $x$.
Higgs boson production in association with a hard central photon and two forward tagging jets is expected to provide valuable information on Higgs boson couplings in a range where it is difficult to disentangle weak-boson fusion processes from large QCD backgrounds. We present next-to-leading order QCD corrections to Higgs production in association with a photon via weak-boson fusion at a hadron collider in the form of a flexible parton-level Monte Carlo program. The QCD corrections to integrated cross sections are found to be small for experimentally relevant selection cuts, while the shape of kinematic distributions can be distorted by up to 20% in some regions of phase space. Residual scale uncertainties at next-to-leading order are at the few-percent level.
In this paper we investigate the $eta_c$ production by photon - photon and photon - hadron interactions in $pp$ and $pA$ collisions at the LHC energies. The inclusive and diffractive contributions for the $eta_c$ photoproduction are estimated using the nonrelativistic quantum chromodynamics (NRQCD) formalism. We estimate the rapidity and transverse momentum distributions for the $eta_c$ photoproduction in hadronic collisions at the LHC and present our estimate for the total cross sections at the Run 2 energies. A comparison with the predictions for the exclusive $eta_c$ photoproduction, which is a direct probe of the Odderon, also is presented.

Tagging two-photon production offers a significant extension of the LHC physics programme. Effective luminosity of high-energy gamma-gamma collisions reaches 1% of the proton-proton luminosity and the standard detector techniques used for measuring very forward proton scattering should allow for a reliable extraction of interesting two-photon interactions. Particularly exciting is a possibility of detecting two-photon exclusive Higgs boson production at the LHC.
