In this paper, we consider an anticipative nonlinear filtering problem, in which the observation noise is correlated with the past of the signal. This new signal-observation model has its applications in both finance models with insider trading and in engineering. We derive a new equation for the filter in this context, analyzing both the nonlinear and the linear cases. We also handle the case of a finite filter with Volterra type observation. The performance of our algorithm is presented through numerical experiments.

In this work, we study stability of distributed filtering of Markov chains with finite state space, partially observed in conditionally Gaussian noise. We consider a nonlinear filtering scheme over a Distributed Network of Agents (DNA), which relies on the distributed evaluation of the likelihood part of the centralized nonlinear filter and is based on a particular specialization of the Alternating Direction Method of Multipliers (ADMM) for fast average consensus. Assuming the same number of consensus steps between any two consecutive noisy measurements for each sensor in the network, we fully characterize a minimal number of such steps, such that the distributed filter remains uniformly stable with a prescribed accuracy level, {varepsilon} in (0,1], within a finite operational horizon, T, and across all sensors. Stability is in the sense of the ell_1-norm between the centralized and distribut
This paper suggests a new approach to error analysis in the filtering problem for continuous time linear system driven by fractional Brownian noises. We establish existence of the large time limit of the filtering error and determine its scaling exponent with respect to the vanishing observation noise intensity. Closed form expressions are obtained in a number of important special cases.
We investigate a PDE-constrained optimization problem, with an intuitive interpretation in terms of the design of robust membranes made out of an arbitrary number of different materials. We prove existence and uniqueness of solutions for general smooth bounded domains, and derive a symmetry result for radial ones. We strengthen our analysis by proving that, for this particular problem, there are no non-global local optima. When the membrane is made out of two materials, the problem reduces to a shape optimization problem. We lay the preliminary foundation for computable analysis of this type of problem by proving stability of solutions with respect to some of the parameters involved.
In many large systems, such as those encountered in biology or economics, the dynamics are nonlinear and are only known very coarsely. It is often the case, however, that the signs (excitation or inhibition) of individual interactions are known. This paper extends to nonlinear systems the classical criteria of linear sign stability introduced in the 70s, yielding simple sufficient conditions to determine stability using only the sign patterns of the interactions.
While many questions in (robust) finance can be posed in the martingale optimal transport (MOT) framework, others require to consider also non-linear cost functionals. Following the terminology of Gozlan, Roberto, Samson and Tetali this corresponds to weak martingale optimal transport (WMOT). In this article we establish stability of WMOT which is important since financial data can give only imprecise information on the underlying marginals. As application, we deduce the stability of the superreplication bound for VIX futures as well as the stability of stretched Brownian motion and we derive a monotonicity principle for WMOT.
