We calculate the photoproduction of double $J/psi$ ($Upsilon$) to leading order based on the nonrelativistic quantum chromodynamics factorization framework at the Large Hadron Collider with forward proton tagging. The numerical results of double $J/psi$ photoproduction pp $rightarrow$ p$gamma$p $rightarrow$ $J/psi$ + $J/psi$ with different forward detector acceptances ($xi$) are presented. The total cross section of double $J/psi$ photoproduction is less than 200 fb with 0.1 $<$ $xi$ $<$ 0.5, but can reach about 1.37(1.27) pb with 0.0015 $<$ $xi$ $<$ 0.5 ( 0.0015 $<$ $xi$ $<$ 0.15 ). The double $J/psi$ photoproduction may have the potential to be detected and provide an interesting signature, thus is useful for studying the mechanism of heavy quarkonium production. We also predict the double $Upsilon$ photoproduction and find they are, unfortunately, small (with less than 10 fb).

In this paper we probe the Sivers asymmetries through $rm J/psi$ photoproduction in $rm p^uparrow p$ collision within the non-relativistic QCD framework, based on color octet model and the Transverse Momentum Dependent Parton Distributions (TMDs). Both the DGLAP evolution and the TMD evolution are included. The intensity and the sign of the Sivers asymmetry is strongly related on evolution model used to investigate the Gluon Sivers Function (GSF). A sizable asymmetry is obtained as a function of the rapidity, $rm log{(x_{gamma})}$ or $rm log{(x_{g})}$ dependence using a recent parametrization of GSF at the RHIC and AFTER@LHC experiments with the LHC planned forward detector acceptances.

We evaluate the large momentum transfer $J/psi$ photoproduction with rapidity gaps in ultraperipheral proton-ion collisions at the LHC which provides an effective method of probing dynamics of large t elastic hard QCD Pomeron interactions. It is shown that the experimental studies of this process would allow to investigate the energy dependence of cross section of elastic scattering of a small $cbar c$ dipole off the gluon over a wide range of invariant energies 10^3 < s_{cbar c - gluon} < 10^6 GeV^2. The accessible energy range exceeds the one reached in gamma p at HERA by a factor of 10 and allows the kinematic cuts which improve greatly sensitivity to the Pomeron dynamics as compared to the HERA measurements. The cross section is expected to change by a factor ge 20 throughout this interval and our estimates predict quite reasonable counting rates for this process with the several of the LHC detectors.
A process of Central Exclusive $pi^+pi^-$ production in proton-proton collisions and its theoretical description is presented. A possibility of its measurement, during the special low luminosity LHC runs, with the help of the ATLAS central detector for measuring pions and the ALFA stations for tagging the scattered protons is studied. A visible cross section is estimated to be 21 $mu$b for $sqrt{s}=7$ TeV, which gives over 2000 events for 100 $mu$b$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity. Differential distributions in pion pseudorapidities, pion and proton transverse momenta as well as $pi^+pi^-$ invariant mass are shown and discussed.
We show that the use of forward proton detectors at the LHC installed at 220 m and 420 m distance around ATLAS and / or CMS can provide important information on the Higgs sector of the MSSM. We analyse central exclusive production of the neutral CP-even Higgs bosons h and H and their decays into bottom quarks, tau leptons and W bosons in different MSSM benchmark scenarios. Using plausible estimates for the achievable experimental efficiencies and the relevant background processes, we find that the prospective sensitivity of the diffractive Higgs production will allow to probe interesting regions of the M_A--tan_beta parameter plane of the MSSM. Central exclusive production of the CP-even Higgs bosons of the MSSM may provide a unique opportunity to access the bottom Yukawa couplings of the Higgs bosons up to masses of M_H lsim 250 GeV. We also discuss the prospects for identifying the CP-odd Higgs boson, A, in diffractive processes at the LHC.
In the spirit of Mueller-Navelet dijet production, we propose and study the inclusive production of a forward $J/psi$ and a very backward jet at the LHC as an observable to reveal high-energy resummation effects `a la BFKL. We obtain several predictions, which are based on the various mechanisms discussed in the literature to describe the production of the $J/psi$, namely, NRQCD singlet and octet contributions, and the color evaporation model.
