We find non-supersymmetric AdS$_8$ solutions of type IIA supergravity. The internal space is topologically an $S^2$ with a U(1) isometry. The only non-zero flux is $F_0$; an O8 sourcing it is present at the equator of the $S^2$. The warping function and dilaton are non-constant. It is also possible to add D8-branes on top of the O8. Possible destabilizing brane bubbles (whose presence would be suggested by the weak-gravity conjecture) are either absent or collapsing. Our solutions are candidate holographic duals to unitary interacting CFTs in seven dimensions with exceptional global symmetry. We also present analogous non-supersymmetric AdS$_{d}$ solutions for general $d$ which are supported only by $F_0$.

We present a large class of new backgrounds that are solutions of type IIB supergravity with a warped AdS${}_5$ factor, non-trivial axion-dilaton, $B$-field and three-form Ramond-Ramond flux but yet have no five-form flux. We obtain these solutions and many of their variations by judiciously applying non-Abelian and Abelian T-dualities, as well as coordinate shifts to AdS${}_5times X_5$ IIB supergravity solutions with $X_5=S^5, T^{1,1}, Y^{p,q}$. We address a number of issues pertaining to charge quantization in the context of non-Abelian T-duality. We comment on some properties of the expected dual super conformal field theories by studying their CFT central charge holographically. We also use the structure of the supergravity Page charges, central charges and some probe branes to infer aspects of the dual super conformal field theories.
This paper considers general features of the derivative expansion of Feynman diagram contributions to the four-graviton scattering amplitude in eleven-dimensional supergravity compactified on a two-torus. These are translated into statements about interactions of the form D^2k R^4 in type II superstring theories, assuming the standard M-theory/string theory duality relationships, which provide powerful constraints on the effective interactions. In the ten-dimensional IIA limit we find that there can be no perturbative contributions beyond k string loops (for k>0). Furthermore, the genus h=k contributions are determined exactly by the one-loop eleven-dimensional supergravity amplitude for all values of k. A plausible interpretation of these observations is that the sum of h-loop Feynman diagrams of maximally extended supergravity is less divergent than might be expected and could be ultraviolet finite in dimensions d < 4 + 6/h -- the same bound as for N=4 Yang--Mills.
We determine the most general form of off-shell N=(1,1) supergravity field configurations in three dimensions by requiring that at least one off-shell Killing spinor exists. We then impose the field equations of the topologically massive off-shell supergravity and find a class of solutions whose properties crucially depend on the norm of the auxiliary vector field. These are spacelike-squashed and timelike-stretched AdS_3 for the spacelike and timelike norms, respectively. At the transition point where the norm vanishes, the solution is null warped AdS_3. This occurs when the coefficient of the Lorentz-Chern-Simons term is related to the AdS radius by $muell=2$. We find that the spacelike-squashed AdS_3 can be modded out by a suitable discrete subgroup of the isometry group, yielding an extremal black hole solution which avoid closed timelike curves.
We study a class of exact supersymmetric solutions of type IIB Supergravity. They have an SO(4) x SU(2) x U(1) isometry and preserve generically 4 of the 32 supersymmetries of the theory. Asymptotically AdS_5 x S^5 solutions in this class are dual to 1/8 BPS chiral operators which preserve the same symmetries in the N=4 SYM theory. We analyse the solutions to these equations in a large radius asymptotic expansion: they carry charges with respect to two U(1) KK gauge fields and their mass saturates the expected BPS bound. We also show how the same formalism is suitable for the description of the AdS_5 x Y^{p,q} geometries and a class of their excitations.

We demonstrate the simplicity of $AdS_5times S^5$ IIB supergravity at one loop level, by studying non-planar holographic four-point correlators in Mellin space. We develop a systematic algorithm for constructing one-loop Mellin amplitudes from tree-level data, and obtain a simple closed form answer for the $langle mathcal{O}_2^{SG}mathcal{O}_2^{SG}mathcal{O}_p^{SG}mathcal{O}_p^{SG} rangle$ correlators. The structure of this expression is remarkably simple, containing only simultaneous poles in the Mellin variables. We also study the flat space limit of the Mellin amplitudes, which reproduces precisely the IIB supergravity one-loop amplitude in ten dimensions. Our results provide nontrivial evidence for the persistence of the hidden conformal symmetry at one loop.
