We propose that loop integrals with internal heavy particles can be evaluated by expanding in the limit of small external masses. This provides a systematically improvable approximation to the integrals in the entire phase space, and works particularly well for the high energy tails of kinematic distributions (where the usual $1/M$ expansions cease to be valid). We demonstrate our method using Higgs boson pair production as an example. We find that at both one-loop and two-loop, our method provides good approximations to the integrals appearing in the scattering amplitudes. Comparing to existing expansion methods, our method are not restricted to a special phase space region. Combining our efficient method to compute the two-loop amplitude with an infrared subtraction method for the real emission corrections, we expect to have a fast and reliable tool to calculate the differential cross sections for Higgs boson pair production. This will be useful for phenomenological studies and for the extraction of the Higgs self-coupling from future experimental data. Our method can also be applied to other processes, such as the associated production of the Higgs boson with a jet or a $Z$ boson.

We consider soft gluon emission corrections to the production of a top-antitop pair in association with a Higgs boson at hadron colliders. In particular, we present a soft-gluon resummation formula for this production process and gather all elements needed to evaluate it at next-to-next-to-leading logarithmic order. We employ these results to obtain approximate next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) formulas, and implement them in a bespoke parton-level Monte Carlo program which can be used to calculate the total cross section along with arbitrary differential distributions. We use this tool to study the phenomenological impact of the approximate NNLO corrections, finding that they increase the total cross section and the differential distributions which we evaluated in this work.
We study the resummation of soft gluon emission corrections to the production of a top-antitop pair in association with a Higgs boson at the Large Hadron Collider. Starting from a soft-gluon resummation formula derived in previous work, we develop a bespoke parton-level Monte Carlo program which can be used to calculate the total cross section along with differential distributions. We use this tool to study the phenomenological impact of the resummation to next-to-next-to-leading logarithmic (NNLL) accuracy, finding that these corrections increase the total cross section and the differential distributions with respect to NLO calculations of the same observables.

Fixed-order QCD radiative corrections to the vector-boson and Higgs associated production channels, pp -> VH (V=W, Z), at hadron colliders are well understood. We combine higher order perturbative QCD calculations with soft-gluon resummation of both threshold logarithms and logarithms which are important at low transverse momentum of the VH pair. We study the effects of both types of logarithms on the scale dependence of the total cross section and on various kinematic distributions. The next-to-next-to-next-to-leading logarithmic (NNNLL) resummed total cross sections at the LHC are almost identical to the fixed-order perturbative next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) rates, indicating the excellent convergence of the perturbative QCD series. Resummation of the VH transverse momentum (p_T) spectrum provides reliable results for small values of p_T and suggests that implementing a jet-veto will significantly decrease the cross sections.
We study the production of scalar and pseudoscalar Higgs bosons via gluon fusion and bottom-quark annihilation in the MSSM. Relying on the NNLO-QCD calculation implemented in the public code SusHi, we provide precise predictions for the Higgs-production cross section in six benchmark scenarios compatible with the LHC searches. We also provide a detailed discussion of the sources of theoretical uncertainty in our calculation. We examine the dependence of the cross section on the renormalization and factorization scales, on the precise definition of the Higgs-bottom coupling and on the choice of PDFs, as well as the uncertainties associated to our incomplete knowledge of the SUSY contributions through NNLO. In particular, a potentially large uncertainty originates from uncomputed higher-order QCD corrections to the bottom-quark contributions to gluon fusion.
Pair production of Higgs boson at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is known to be important for the determination of Higgs boson self-coupling and the probe of new physics beyond the Standard Model (SM), especially the existence of new fundamental scalar boson. In this paper we study in detail the Higgs pair production at the LHC in a well-motivated model, the Gauged Two Higgs Doublet Model (G2HDM) in which the two Higgs doublets are properly embedded into a gauged $SU(2)_H$ and a dark matter candidate emerges naturally due to the gauge symmetry. Besides the deviations of Higgs couplings from the SM predictions, the existence of new scalars could enhance the production cross section of Higgs boson pair at the LHC significantly. However, when we take into account the relic density of dark matter and the null result in its direct search, only moderate enhancement can be maintained. We also comment on the capability of distinguishing the signal of a new generic scalar from the SM at the LHC, assuming the Higgs pair production cross sections are the same.
