We study the generalized eigenvalue problem in $mathbb{R}^N$ for a general convex nonlinear elliptic operator which is locally elliptic and positively $1$-homogeneous. Generalizing article of Berestycki and Rossi in [Comm. Pure Appl. Math. 68 (2015), no. 6, 1014-1065] we consider three different notions of generalized eigenvalues and compare them. We also discuss the maximum principles and uniqueness of principal eigenfunctions.
It is established existence of bound and ground state solutions for quasilinear elliptic systems driven by (phi 1, phi 2)-Laplacian operator. The main feature here is to consider quasilinear elliptic systems involving both nonsingular nonlinearities combined with indefinite potentials and singular cases perturbed by superlinear and subcritical couple terms. These prevent us to use arguments based on Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz condition and variational methods for differentiable functionals. By exploring the Nehari method and doing a fine analysis on the fibering map associated, we get estimates that allow us unify the arguments to show multiplicity of semi-trivial solutions in both cases.
This paper continues the development of regularity results for quasilinear measure data problems begin{align*} begin{cases} -mathrm{div}(A(x, abla u)) &= mu quad text{in} Omega, quad quad qquad u &=0 quad text{on} partial Omega, end{cases} end{align*} in Lorentz and Lorentz-Morrey spaces, where $Omega subset mathbb{R}^n$ ($n ge 2$), $mu$ is a finite Radon measure on $Omega$, and $A$ is a monotone Caratheodory vector valued operator acting between $W^{1,p}_0(Omega)$ and its dual $W^{-1,p}(Omega)$. It emphasizes that this paper studies the `very singular case $1<p le frac{3n-2}{2n-1}$ and the problem is considered under the weak assumption, where the $p$-capacity uniform thickness condition is imposed on the complement of domain $Omega$. There are two main results obtained in our study pertaining to the global gradient estimates of solutions in Lorentz and Lorentz-Morrey spaces involving the use of maximal and fractional maximal operators. The idea for writing this working paper comes directly from the recent results by others in the same research topic, where global estimates for gradient of solutions for the `very singular case still remains a challenge, specifically related to Lorentz and Lorentz-Morrey spaces.
A recent result by Parcet and Rogers is that finite order lacunarity characterizes the boundedness of the maximal averaging operator associated to an infinite set of directions in $mathbb{R}^n$. Their proof is based on geometric-combinatorial coverings of fat hyperplanes by two-dimensional wedges. Seminal results by Nagel-Stein-Wainger relied on geometric coverings of n-dimensional nature. In this article we find the sharp cardinality estimate for singular integrals along finite subsets of finite order lacunary sets in all dimensions. Previous results only covered the special case of the directional Hilbert transform in dimensions two and three. The proof is new in all dimensions and relies, among other ideas, on a precise covering of the n-dimensional Nagel-Stein-Wainger cone by two-dimensional Parcet-Rogers wedges.
We deal with a global Calderon-Zygmund type estimate for elliptic obstacle problems of $p$-Laplacian type with measure data. For this paper, we focus on the singular case of growth exponent, i.e. $1<p le 2-frac{1}{n}$. In addition, the emphasis of this paper is in obtaining the Lorentz bounds for the gradient of solutions with the use of fractional maximal operators.
