In this article, we study the decay of the solutions of Schrodinger equations in the exterior of an obstacle. The main situations we are interested in are the general case (no non-trapping assumptions) or some weakly trapping situations
The purpose of the present paper is to establish the local energy decay estimates and dispersive estimates for 3-dimensional wave equation with a potential to the initial-boundary value problem on exterior domains. The geometrical assumptions on domains are rather general, for example non-trapping condition is not imposed in the local energy decay result. As a by-product, Strichartz estimates is obtained too.
We show improved local energy decay for the wave equation on asymptotically Euclidean manifolds in odd dimensions in the short range case. The precise decay rate depends on the decay of the metric towards the Euclidean metric. We also give estimates of powers of the resolvent of the wave propagator between weighted spaces.
In this paper we give a new and simplified proof of the theorem on selection of standing waves for small energy solutions of the nonlinear Schrodinger equations (NLS) that we gave in cite{CM15APDE}. We consider a NLS with a Schrodinger operator with several eigenvalues, with corresponding families of small standing waves, and we show that any small energy solution converges to the orbit of a time periodic solution plus a scattering term. The novel idea is to consider the refined profile, a quasi--periodic function in time which almost solves the NLS and encodes the discrete modes of a solution. The refined profile, obtained by elementary means, gives us directly an optimal coordinate system, avoiding the normal form arguments in cite{CM15APDE}, giving us also a better understanding of the Fermi Golden Rule.
We give a detailed study of the infinite-energy solutions of the Cahn-Hilliard equation in the 3D cylindrical domains in uniformly local phase space. In particular, we establish the well-posedness and dissipativity for the case of regular potentials of arbitrary polynomial growth as well as for the case of sufficiently strong singular potentials. For these cases, we prove the further regularity of solutions and the existence of a global attractor. For the cases where we have failed to prove the uniqueness (e.g., for the logarithmic potentials), we establish the existence of the trajectory attractor and study its properties.
We study all the symmetries of the free Schrodinger equation in the non-commutative plane. These symmetry transformations form an infinite-dimensional Weyl algebra that appears naturally from a two-dimensional Heisenberg algebra generated by Galilean boosts and momenta. These infinite high symmetries could be useful for constructing non-relativistic interacting higher spin theories. A finite-dimensional subalgebra is given by the Schrodinger algebra which, besides the Galilei generators, contains also the dilatation and the expansion. We consider the quantization of the symmetry generators in both the reduced and extended phase spaces, and discuss the relation between both approaches.
