F-free CeOBiS$_2$ single crystals have successfully grown, thoroughly eliminating a concern about F-contamination by using a high-purity CsCl flux. The obtained crystals have a plate-like shape with a size of 1.0-3.0 mm in the well-developed plane. Single crystal X-ray structural analysis clearly revealed that the CeOBiS$_2$ crystallizes with a space group $P4/nmm$ (with lattice parameters of $a$ = 4.0189(6) {AA}, $c$ = 13.573(2) {AA}). The bond valence sum estimation and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis showed that the chemical state of Ce was in the mixed valence of Ce$^{3+}$ and Ce$^{4+}$. The single crystals show superconductivity with zero resistivity at $sim$1.3 K. This is the first conclusive evidence of superconductivity driven by Ce valence fluctuation in surely non-doped CeOBiS$_2$. The superconducting transition temperature was enhanced up to $sim$3.8 K by applying hydrostatic pressure.

The newly discovered BiS$_2$-based LaO$_{1-x}$F$_{x}$BiS$_2$ ($x$=0.5) becomes superconductive at $T_c$=2.5 K. Electrical resistivity and magnetization measurements are performed under pressure to determine the pressure dependence of the superconducting transition temperature $T_c$. We observe that $T_c$ abruptly increases from 2.5 K to 10.7 K at a pressure of 0.7 GPa. According to high-pressure X-ray diffraction measurements, a structural phase transition from a tetragonal phase ($P$4/$nmm$) to a monoclinic phase ($P$2$_1/m$) also occurs at around $sim$ 1 GPa. We consider that a pressure-induced enhancement of superconductivity is caused by the structural phase transition.

Electrical resistivity measurements under high pressures up to 29 GPa were performed for oxypnictide compound LaFeAsO. We found a pressure-induced superconductivity in LaFeAsO. The maximum value of Tc is 21 K at ~12 GPa. The pressure dependence of the Tc is similar to those of LaFeAsO1-xFx series reported previously.
We report the effect of hydrostatic pressure (0-1.97GPa) on the superconductivity of BiS2 based CeO0.5F0.5BiS2 compound. The CeO0.5F0.5BiS2 superconductor was synthesized by the solid state reaction route and the compound is crystallized in tetragonal P4/nmm space group. The studied compound shows superconductivity with transition temperature of 2.5K (Tconset) at ambient pressure, which has been enhanced to 8 K at applied pressure of 1.97 GPa. The observed normal resistivity exhibited semiconducting behavior. The data of normal state resistivity R(T) has been fitted by activation type equation and it is found that the energy gap is significantly reduced with pressure. Resistivity measurements under magnetic field for the highest applied pressure of 1.97GPa (Tconset = 8K) exhibits the upper critical field of above 5Tesla. The observation of fourfold increase in Tc accompanied with improved normal state conduction under hydrostatic pressure on CeO0.5F0.5BiS2 superconductor calls for the attention of solid state physics community.
Using a new horizontal flux growth technique to produce high quality crystals of the unconventional superconductor YFe$_2$Ge$_2$ has led to a seven-fold reduction in disorder scattering, resulting in mm-sized crystals with residual resistivities $simeq SI{0.45}{microohmcentimeter}$, resistivity ratios $simeq 430$ and sharp superconducting heat capacity anomalies. This enables searching multi-probe experiments investigating the normal and superconducting states of YFe$_2$Ge$_2$. Low temperature heat capacity measurements suggest a significant residual Sommerfeld coefficient, consistent with in-gap states induced by residual disorder as predicted for a sign-changing order parameter.
We investigated LaFeAsO single crystals by means of synchrotron Mossbauer spectroscopy under pressures up to 7.5 GPa and down to 13 K and provide a microscopic phase diagram. We found a continuous suppression of the magnetic hyperfine field with increasing pressure and it completely vanishes at $sim$ 7.5 GPa which is in contrast to the behavior in polycrystalline samples where the magnetic order vanishes at $sim$ 20 GPa. The different behavior of the polycrystalline samples might be due to As-vacancies. Our results are in qualitative agreement with density functional theory calculations where a reduction of the magnetic moment with increasing pressure was found. We found that among different samples at ambient pressure the magnetic phase transition temperature as well as the low-temperature magnetic hyperfine field decrease with increasing unit cell volume.
