We have studied elliptic flow ($v_{2}$) of $phi$-mesons in the framework of a multi phase transport (AMPT) model at LHC energy. In the realms of AMPT model we observe $phi$-mesons at intermediate transverse momentum ($p_{T}$) deviate from the previously observed (at RHIC) particle type grouping of $v_{2}$ according to the number of quark content i.e, baryons and mesons. Recent results from the ALICE Collaboration have shown that $phi$-meson and proton $v_{2}$ has a similar trend, possibly indicating that particle type grouping might be due to the mass of the particles and not the quark content. A stronger radial boost at LHC compared to RHIC seems to offer a consistent explanation to such observation. However, recalling that $phi$-mesons decouple from the hadronic medium before additional radial flow is build-up in the hadronic phase, similar pattern in $phi$-meson and proton $v_{2}$ may not be due to radial flow alone. Our study reveals that models incorporating $phi$-meson production from $Kbar{K}$ fusion in the hadronic rescattering phase also predict a comparable magnitude of $phi$-meson and proton $v_{2}$ particularly in the intermediate region of $p_{T}$. Whereas, $v_{2}$ of $phi$-mesons created in the partonic phase is in agreement with quark-coalescence motivated baryon-meson grouping of hadron $v_{2}$. This observation seems to provide a plausible alternative interpretation for the apparent mass-like behaviour of $phi$-meson $v_{2}$. We have also observed a violation of hydrodynamical mass ordering between proton and $phi$-meson $v_{2}$ further supporting that $phi$-mesons are negligibly affected by the collective radial flow in the hadronic phase due to the small in-medium hadronic interaction cross sections.

We show that the experimental data of transverse momentum ($p_{T}$) spectra of $Omega$ baryon and $phi$ meson at mid-rapidity in heavy-ion collisions exhibit the constituent quark number scaling in a wide energy range from RHIC to LHC. Such a scaling behavior is a direct consequence of quark combination mechanism via equal velocity combination and provides a very convenient way to extract the $p_{T}$ spectrum of strange quarks at hadronization. We present the results of strange quarks obtained from the available data and study the properties in particular the energy dependence of the averaged transverse momentum $langle p_{T}rangle$ and the transverse radial flow velocity $langlebetarangle$ with a hydrodynamics-motivated blast-wave model.

Based on A Multi-Phase Transport model, the elliptic flow $v_{2}$ of $phi$ mesons which is reconstructed from $K^{+}K^{-}$ at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) energy has been studied. The results show that reconstructed $v_{2}$ of $phi$ meson can keep the earlier information before $phi$ decays and it seems to obey the number of constituent quark scaling as other mesons and baryons. This result indicates that the $phi$ $v_2$ mostly reflects the parton level collectivity developed during the early stage of the collisions and the strange and light up/down quarks have similar collectivity properties before the hadronization.
The directed flow of particles produced in ultrarelativistic heavy ion collisions at SPS and RHIC is so small that currently available methods of analysis are at the border of applicability. Standard two-particle and flow-vector methods are biased by large nonflow correlations. On the other hand, cumulants of four-particle correlations, which are free from this bias, are plagued by large statistical errors. Here, we present a new method based on three-particle correlations, which uses the property that elliptic flow is large at these energies. This method may also be useful at intermediate energies, near the balance energy where directed flow vanishes.

The production of phi mesons in Au+Au collisions at RHIC and their propagation in a hot and dense nuclear medium is studied within the microscopic quark-gluon string model. The inverse slope parameter of the transverse mass distribution agrees well with that extracted from the STAR data, while the absolute yield of phi is underestimated by a factor 2. It appears that the fusion of strings alone cannot increase the phi yield either. Less than 30% of detectable phis experience elastic scattering, this rate is insufficient for the full thermalization of phi. The directed flow of phi at |y|<2 demonstrates strong antiflow behavior, whereas its elliptic flow rises up to about 3.5% in the same rapidity interval. As a function of transverse momentum it rises linearly with increasing p_t, in agreement with the STAR data, and saturates at p_t > 2 GeV/c.

Recently the splitting of elliptic flow $v_2$ at finite rapidities has been proposed as a result of the global vorticity in non-central relativistic heavy ion collisions. Using a multi-phase transport model that automatically includes the vorticity field and flow fluctuations, we confirm the left-right (i.e., on opposite sides of the impact parameter axis) splitting of the elliptic flow at finite rapidities. However, we find that this $v_2$ splitting is a result of the non-zero directed flow $v_1$ at finite rapidities, with the splitting magnitude $approx 8v_1/3pi$. As a result, the $v_2$ splitting vanishes at zero transverse momentum ($p_{rm T}$), and its magnitude and sign may have non-trivial dependences on $p_{rm T}$, centrality, collision energy, and hadron species. Since the left-right $v_2$ splitting is a combined effect of $v_1$ and $v_2$, it will benefit studies of the three-dimensional structure and dynamics of the dense matter.
