In this paper, we develop an iterative approach to span the whole set of exotic matter models able to drive a traversable wormhole. The method, based on a Taylor expansion of metric and stress-energy tensor components in a neighbourhood of the wormhole throat, reduces the Einstein equations to an infinite set of algebraic conditions, which can be satisfied order by order. The approach easily allows the implementation of further conditions linking the stress-energy tensor components among each other, like symmetry conditions or equations of state. The method is then applied to some relevant examples of exotic matter characterised by a constant energy density and that also show an isotropic behaviour in the stress-energy tensor or obeying to a quintessence-like equation of state.

In this paper we attempt to examine the possibility of construction of a traversable wormhole on the Randall-Sundrum braneworld with ordinary matter employing the Kuchowicz potential as one of the metric potentials. In this scenario, the wormhole shape function is obtained and studied, along with validity of Null Energy Condition (NEC) and the junction conditions at the surface of the wormhole are used to obtain a few of the model parameters. The investigation, besides giving an estimate for the bulk equation of state parameter, draws important constraints on the brane tension which is a novel attempt in this aspect and very interestingly the constraints imposed by a physically plausible traversable wormhole is in high confirmity with those drawn from more general space-times or space-time independent situations involved in fundamental physics. Also, we go on to claim that the possible existence of a wormhole may very well indicate that we live on a three-brane universe.
We discuss a proposal on how gravitational collapse of a NEC (Null Energy Condition) violating spherically symmetric fluid distribution can avoid the formation of a zero proper volume singularity and eventually lead to a Lorentzian wormhole geometry. Our idea is illustrated using a time-evolving wormhole spacetime in which, we show how a collapsing sphere may never reach a zero proper volume end-state. The nature of geodesic congruences in such spacetimes is considered and analyzed. Our construction is inspired from a recently proposed static wormhole geometry, the multi-parameter Simpson-Visser line element, which is known to unite wormholes and black holes (regular and singular) in a single framework.
We study a traversable wormhole originated by a transformation over the 4D Dymnikova metric which describes analytic Black-Holes (BH). By using a transformation of coordinates which is adapted from the used in the Einstein-Rosen bridge, we study a specific family of geodesics in which a test particle with non-zero electric charge induces an effective magnetic monopole, that is perceived by observers outside the wormhole. Because the Riemannian geometry cannot explain the presence of magnetic monopoles, then we propose a torsional geometry in order to explore the possibility that magnetic monopoles can be geometrically induced. We obtain an expression that relates torsion and magnetic fields jointly with a Dirac-like expression for magnetic and electric charges, such that torsion makes possible define a fundamental length that provides a magnetic field and a spacetime discretization.
The current interests in the universe motivate us to go beyond Einsteins General theory of relativity. One of the interesting proposals comes from a new class of teleparallel gravity named symmetric teleparallel gravity, i.e., $f(Q)$ gravity, where the non-metricity term $Q$ is accountable for fundamental interaction. These alternative modified theories of gravitys vital role are to deal with the recent interests and to present a realistic cosmological model. This manuscripts main objective is to study the traversable wormhole geometries in $f(Q)$ gravity. We construct the wormhole geometries for three cases: (i) by assuming a relation between the radial and lateral pressure, (ii) considering phantom energy equation of state (EoS), and (iii) for a specific shape function in the fundamental interaction of gravity (i.e. for linear form of $f(Q)$). Besides, we discuss two wormhole geometries for a general case of $f(Q)$ with two specific shape functions. Then, we discuss the viability of shape functions and the stability analysis of the wormhole solutions for each case. We have found that the null energy condition (NEC) violates each wormhole model which concluded that our outcomes are realistic and stable. Finally, we discuss the embedding diagrams and volume integral quantifier to have a complete view of wormhole geometries.
We consider rotating wormhole solutions supported by a complex phantom scalar field with a quartic self-interaction, where the phantom field induces the rotation of the spacetime. The solutions are regular and asymptotically flat. A subset of solutions describing static but not spherically symmetric wormholes is also obtained.
