A new convenient method to diagonalize the non-relativistic many-body Schroedinger equation with two-body central potentials is derived. It combines kinematic rotations (democracy transformations) and exact calculation of overlap integrals between bases with different sets of mass-scaled Jacobi coordinates, thereby allowing for a great simplification of this formidable problem. We validate our method by obtaining a perfect correspondence with the exactly solvable three-body ($N=3$) Calogero model in 1D.

There are efficient many-body methods, such as the (symmetry-restored) generator coordinate method in nuclear physics, that formulate the A-body Schrodinger equation within a set of nonorthogonal many-body states. Solving the corresponding secular equation requires the evaluation of the norm matrix and thus the capacity to compute its entries consistently and without any phase ambiguity. This is not always a trivial task, e.g. it remained a long-standing problem for methods based on general Bogoliubov product states. While a solution to this problem was found recently in Ref. [L. M. Robledo, Phys. Rev. C79, 021302 (2009)], the present work introduces an alternative method that can be generically applied to other classes of states of interest in many-body physics. The method is presently exemplified in the case of Bogoliubov states and numerically illustrated on the basis of a toy model.
We propose a method to obtain optimal protocols for adiabatic ground-state preparation near the adiabatic limit, extending earlier ideas from [D. A. Sivak and G. E. Crooks, Phys. Rev. Lett. 108, 190602 (2012)] to quantum non-dissipative systems. The space of controllable parameters of isolated quantum many-body systems is endowed with a Riemannian quantum metric structure, which can be exploited when such systems are driven adiabatically. Here, we use this metric structure to construct optimal protocols in order to accomplish the task of adiabatic ground-state preparation in a fixed amount of time. Such optimal protocols are shown to be geodesics on the parameter manifold, maximizing the local fidelity. Physically, such protocols minimize the average energy fluctuations along the path. Our findings are illustrated on the Landau-Zener model and the anisotropic XY spin chain. In both cases we show that geodesic protocols drastically improve the final fidelity. Moreover, this happens even if one crosses a critical point, where the adiabatic perturbation theory fails.

The potentials $V (v)$ in the nonrelativistic (relativistic) nucleon-nucleon (NN) Schroedingerequation are related by a quadratic equation. That equation is numerically solved, thus providing phase equivalent v- potentials related for instance to the high precision NN potentials, which are adjusted to NN phase shift and mixing parameters in a nonrelativistic Schroedinger equation. The relativistic NN potentials embedded in a three-nucleon (3N)system for total NN momenta different from zero are also constructed in a numerically precise manner. They enter into the relativistic interacting 3N mass operator, which is needed for relativistic 3N calculations for bound and scattering states.
Normalizing flows are a class of machine learning models used to construct a complex distribution through a bijective mapping of a simple base distribution. We demonstrate that normalizing flows are particularly well suited as a Monte Carlo integration framework for quantum many-body calculations that require the repeated evaluation of high-dimensional integrals across smoothly varying integrands and integration regions. As an example, we consider the finite-temperature nuclear equation of state. An important advantage of normalizing flows is the ability to build highly expressive models of the target integrand, which we demonstrate enables precise evaluations of the nuclear free energy and its derivatives. Furthermore, we show that a normalizing flow model trained on one target integrand can be used to efficiently calculate related integrals when the temperature, density, or nuclear force is varied. This work will support future efforts to build microscopic equations of state for numerical simulations of supernovae and neutron star mergers that employ state-of-the-art nuclear forces and many-body methods.

We consider a weakly interacting quantum spin chain with random local interactions. We prove that many-body localization follows from a physically reasonable assumption that limits the extent of level attraction in the statistics of eigenvalues. In a KAM-style construction, a sequence of local unitary transformations is used to diagonalize the Hamiltonian by deforming the initial tensor product basis into a complete set of exact many-body eigenfunctions.
