Recently the ATLAS experiment announced a 3 $sigma$ excess at the Z-peak consisting of 29 pairs of leptons together with two or more jets, $E_T^{rm miss}> 225$ GeV and $H_T geq 600$ GeV, to be compared with $10.6 pm 3.2$ expected lepton pairs in the Standard Model. No excess outside the Z-peak was observed. By trying to explain this signal with SUSY we find that only relatively light gluinos, $m_{tilde g} lesssim 1.2$ TeV, together with a heavy neutralino NLSP of $m_{tilde chi} gtrsim 400$ GeV decaying predominantly to Z-boson plus a light gravitino, such that nearly every gluino produces at least one Z-boson in its decay chain, could reproduce the excess. We construct an explicit general gauge mediation model able to reproduce the observed signal overcoming all the experimental limits. Needless to say, more sophisticated models could also reproduce the signal, however, any model would have to exhibit the following features, light gluinos, or heavy particles with a strong production cross-section, producing at least one Z-boson in its decay chain. The implications of our findings for the Run II at LHC with the scaling on the Z peak, as well as for the direct search of gluinos and other SUSY particles, are pointed out.

The ATLAS experiment observed an excess at the $3sigma$ level in the channel of $Z$ boson, jets and high missing transverse momentum in the full 2012 dataset at 8 TeV while searching for SUSY. The question arises whether the abundance and the kinematical features of this excess are compatible with the yet unconstrained supersymmetric realm, respecting at the same time the measured Higgs boson properties and dark matter density. By trying to explain this signal with SUSY we find that only relatively light gluinos together with a heavy neutralino NLSP decaying predominantly to a $Z$ boson plus a light gravitino could reproduce the excess. We construct an explicit general gauge mediation model able to match the observed signal. More sophisticated models could also reproduce the signal, as long as it features light gluinos, or heavy particles with a strong production cross section, producing at least one $Z$ boson in its decay chain. The implications of our findings for the Run II at LHC with the scaling on the $Z$ peak, as well as for the direct search of gluinos and other SUSY particles, are also discussed.
The CMS and the ATLAS Collaborations have recently reported on the search for supersymmetry with 35 pb$^{-1}$ of data and have put independent limits on the parameter space of the supergravity unified model with universal boundary conditions at the GUT scale for soft breaking, i.e., the mSUGRA model. We extend this study by examining other regions of the mSUGRA parameter space in $A_0$ and $tanbeta$. Further, we contrast the reach of CMS and ATLAS with 35 pb$^{-1}$ of data with the indirect constraints, i.e., the constraints from the Higgs boson mass limits, from flavor physics and from the dark matter limits from WMAP. Specifically it is found that a significant part of the parameter space excluded by CMS and ATLAS is essentially already excluded by the indirect constraints and the fertile region of parameter space has yet to be explored. We also emphasize that gluino masses as low as 400 GeV but for squark masses much larger than the gluino mass remain unconstrained and further that much of the hyperbolic branch of radiative electroweak symmetry breaking, with low values of the Higgs mixing parameter $mu$, is essentially untouched by the recent LHC analysis.

We interpret within the phenomenological MSSM (pMSSM) the results of SUSY searches published by the CMS collaboration based on the first ~1 fb^-1 of data taken during the 2011 LHC run at 7 TeV. The pMSSM is a 19-dimensional parametrization of the MSSM that captures most of its phenomenological features. It encompasses, and goes beyond, a broad range of more constrained SUSY models. Performing a global Bayesian analysis, we obtain posterior probability densities of parameters, masses and derived observables. In contrast to constraints derived for particular SUSY breaking schemes, such as the CMSSM, our results provide more generic conclusions on how the current data constrain the MSSM.

In supersymmetric models, a correlation exists between the structure of the Higgs sector quartic potential and the coupling of the lightest CP-even Higgs to fermions and gauge bosons. We exploit this connection to relate the observed value of the Higgs mass ~ 125 GeV to the magnitude of its couplings. We analyze different scenarios ranging from the MSSM with heavy stops to more natural models with additional non-decoupling D-term/F-term contributions. A comparison with the most recent LHC data, allows to extract bounds on the heavy Higgs boson masses, competitive with bounds from direct searches.
Weak-scale supersymmetry remains to be one of the best-motivated theories of physics beyond the Standard Model. We evaluate the sensitivities of the High Luminosity (HL) and High Energy (HE) upgrades of the LHC to gluinos and stops, decaying through the simplified topologies $tilde{g} to q bar{q} chi^0$, $tilde{g} to t bar{t} chi^0$ and $tilde{t} to t tilde{chi}^0$. Our HL-LHC analyses improve on existing experimental projections by optimizing the acceptance of kinematic variables. The HE-LHC studies represent the first 27 TeV analyses. We find that the HL-(HE-)LHC with 3 ab$^{-1}$ (15 ab$^{-1}$) of integrated luminosity will be sensitive to the masses of gluinos and stops at 3.2 (5.7) TeV and 1.5 (2.7) TeV, respectively, decaying to massless neutralinos.
