We propose a physically based analytical compact model to calculate Eigen energies and Wave functions which incorporates penetration effect. The model is applicable for a quantum well structure that frequently appears in modern nano-scale devices. This model is equally applicable for both silicon and III-V devices. Unlike other models already available in the literature, our model can accurately predict all the eigen energies without the inclusion of any fitting parameters. The validity of our model has been checked with numerical simulations and the results show significantly better agreement compared to the available methods.

Based on quantum origin of the universe, in this article we find that the universal wave function can be far richer than the superposition of many classical worlds studied by Everett. By analyzing the more general universal wave function and its unitary evolutions, we find that on small scale we can obtain Newtons law of universal gravity, while on the scale of galaxies we naturally derive gravitational effects corresponding to dark matter, without modifying any physical principles or hypothesizing the existence of new elementary particles. We find that an auxiliary function having formal symmetry is very useful to predict the evolution of the classical information in the universal wave function.

In this paper, we provide a procedure to solve the eigen solutions of Dirac equation with complicated potential approximately. At first, we solve the eigen solutions of a linear Dirac equation with complete eigen system, which approximately equals to the original equation. Take the eigen functions as base of Hilbert space, and expand the spinor on the bases, we convert the original problem into solution of extremum of an algebraic function on the unit sphere of the coefficients. Then the problem can be easily solved. This is a standard finite element method with strict theory for convergence and effectiveness.
The possibility of earthquake prediction is one of the key open questions in modern geophysics. We propose an approach based on the analysis of common short-term candidate precursors (2 weeks to 3 months prior to strong earthquake) with the subsequent processing of brain activity signals generated in specific types of rats (kept in laboratory settings) who reportedly sense an impending earthquake few days prior to the event. We illustrate the identification of short-term precursors using the groundwater sodium-ion concentration data in the time frame from 2010 to 2014 (a major earthquake occurred on February 28, 2013), recorded at two different sites in the south-eastern part of the Kamchatka peninsula, Russia. The candidate precursors are observed as synchronized peaks in the nonstationarity factors, introduced within the flicker-noise spectroscopy framework for signal processing, for the high-frequency component of both time series. These peaks correspond to the local reorganizations of the underlying geophysical system that are believed to precede strong earthquakes. The rodent brain activity signals are selected as potential immediate (up to 2 weeks) deterministic precursors due to the recent scientific reports confirming that rodents sense imminent earthquakes and the population-genetic model of Kirshvink (2000) showing how a reliable genetic seismic escape response system may have developed over the period of several hundred million years in certain animals. The use of brain activity signals, such as electroencephalograms, in contrast to conventional abnormal animal behavior observations, enables one to apply the standard input-sensor-response approach to determine what input signals trigger specific seismic escape brain activity responses

Recent advances in machine-learned interatomic potentials largely benefit from the atomistic representation and locally invariant many-body descriptors. It was however recently argued that including three- (or even four-) body features is incomplete to distinguish specific local structures. Utilizing an embedded density descriptor made by linear combinations of neighboring atomic orbitals and realizing that each orbital coefficient physically depends on its own local environment, we propose a recursively embedded atom neural network model. We formally prove that this model can efficiently incorporate complete many-body correlations without explicitly computing high-order terms. This model not only successfully addresses challenges regarding local completeness and nonlocality in representative systems, but also provides an easy and general way to update local many-body descriptors to have a message-passing form without changing their basic structures.

Categorization is a significant task in decision-making, which is a key part of human behavior. An interference effect is caused by categorization in some cases, which breaks the total probability principle. A negation quantum model (NQ model) is developed in this article to predict the interference. Taking the advantage of negation to bring more information in the distribution from a different perspective, the proposed model is a combination of the negation of a probability distribution and the quantum decision model. Information of the phase contained in quantum probability and the special calculation method to it can easily represented the interference effect. The results of the proposed NQ model is closely to the real experiment data and has less error than the existed models.
