General one-loop integrals with arbitrary mass and kinematical parameters in $d$-dimensional space-time are studied. By using Bernstein theorem, a recursion relation is obtained which connects $(n+1)$-point to $n$-point functions. In solving this recursion relation, we have shown that one-loop integrals are expressed by a newly defined hypergeometric function, which is a special case of Aomoto-Gelfand hypergeometric functions. We have also obtained coefficients of power series expansion around 4-dimensional space-time for two-, three- and four-point functions. The numerical results are compared with LoopTools for the case of two- and three-point functions as examples.

In this paper, we show that with the state-of-art module intersection IBP reduction method and our improved Leinartas algorithm, IBP relations for very complicated Feynman integrals can be solved and the analytic reduction coefficients can be dramatically simplified. We develop a large scale parallel implementation of our improved Leinartas algorithm, based on the textsc{Singular}/textsc{GPI-Space} framework. We demonstrate our method by the reduction of two-loop five-point Feynman integrals with degree-five numerators, with a simple and sparse IBP system. The analytic reduction result is then greatly simplified by our improved Leinartas algorithm to a usable form, with a compression ratio of two order of magnitudes. We further discover that the compression ratio increases with the complexity of the Feynman integrals.

One approach to the calculation of cross sections for infrared-safe observables in high energy collisions at next-to-leading order is to perform all of the integrations, including the virtual loop integration, by Monte Carlo numerical integration. In a previous paper, two of us have shown how one can perform such a virtual loop integration numerically after first introducing a Feynman parameter representation. In this paper, we perform the integration directly, without introducing Feynman parameters, after suitably deforming the integration contour. Our example is the N-photon scattering amplitude with a massless electron loop. We report results for N = 6 and N = 8.

We formulate general principles of building hypergeometric type series from the Jacobi theta functions that generalize the plain and basic hypergeometric series. Single and multivariable elliptic hypergeometric series are considered in detail. A characterization theorem for a single variable totally elliptic hypergeometric series is proved.
We show that direct Feynman-parametric loop integration is possible for a large class of planar multi-loop integrals. Much of this follows from the existence of manifestly dual-conformal Feynman-parametric representations of planar loop integrals, and the fact that many of the algebraic roots associated with (e.g. Landau) leading singularities are automatically rationalized in momentum-twistor space---facilitating direct integration via partial fractioning. We describe how momentum twistors may be chosen non-redundantly to parameterize particular integrals, and how strategic choices of coordinates can be used to expose kinematic limits of interest. We illustrate the power of these ideas with many concrete cases studied through four loops and involving as many as eight particles. Detailed examples are included as ancillary files to this works submission to the arXiv.
Angularities are event shapes whose sensitivity to the splitting angle of a collinear emission is controlled by a continuous parameter $b$, with $ -1 < b < infty$. When measured with respect to the thrust axis, this class of QCD observables includes thrust ($b=1$) and jet broadening ($b=0$), the former being insensitive to the recoil of soft against collinear radiation, while the latter being maximally sensitive to it. Presently available analytic results for angularity distributions with $b eq 0$ can be applied only close to the thrust limit since recoil effects have so far been neglected. As a first step to establish a comprehensive theoretical framework based on Soft-Collinear Effective Theory valid for all recoil-sensitive angularities, we compute for the first time angularity distributions at one-loop order in $alpha_s$ for all values of $b$ taking into account recoil effects. In the differential cross section, these amount to novel sub-leading singular contributions and/or power corrections, where the former are characterized by fractional powers of the angularity and contribute appreciably close to the peak region, also for $b gtrsim 0.5$. Our calculations are checked against various limits known in the literature and agree with the numerical output of the Event2 generator.
