We provide a set of chiral boundary conditions for three-dimensional gravity that allow for asymptotic symmetries identical to those of two-dimensional induced gravity in light-cone gauge considered by Polyakov. These are the most general boundary conditions consistent with the boundary terms introduced by Compere, Song and Strominger recently. We show that the asymptotic symmetry algebra of our boundary conditions is an sl(2,R) current algebra with level given by c/6. The fully non-linear solution in Fefferman--Graham coordinates is also provided along with its charges.

From pure Yang-Mills action for the $SL(5,mathbb{R})$ group in four Euclidean dimensions we obtain a gravity theory in the first order formalism. Besides the Einstein-Hilbert term, the effective gravity has a cosmological constant term, a curvature squared term, a torsion squared term and a matter sector. To obtain such geometrodynamical theory, asymptotic freedom and the Gribov parameter (soft BRST symmetry breaking) are crucial. Particularly, Newton and cosmological constant are related to these parameters and they also run as functions of the energy scale. One-loop computations are performed and the results are interpreted.
We study the quantization of the corner symmetry algebra of 3d gravity associated with 1d spatial boundaries. We first recall that in the continuum, this symmetry algebra is given by the central extension of the Poincare loop algebra. At the quantum level, we construct a discrete current algebra with a $mathcal{D}mathrm{SU}(2)$ quantum symmetry group that depends on an integer $N$. This algebra satisfies two fundamental properties: First it is compatible with the quantum space-time picture given by the Ponzano-Regge state-sum model, which provides a path integral amplitudes for 3d loop quantum gravity. We then show that we recover in the $Nrightarrowinfty$ limit the central extension of the Poincare current algebra. The number of boundary edges defines a discreteness parameter $N$ which counts the number of flux lines attached to the boundary. We analyse the refinement, coarse-graining and fusion processes as $N$ changes. Identifying a discrete current algebra on quantum boundaries is an important step towards understanding how conformal field theories arise on spatial boundaries in loop quantum gravity. It also shows how an asymptotic BMS symmetry group could appear from the continuum limit of 3d quantum gravity.
A superspace formulation of IIB supergravity which includes the field strengths of the duals of the usual physical one, three and five-form field strengths as well as the eleven-form field strength is given. The superembedding formalism is used to construct kappa-symmetric SL(2,R) covariant D-brane actions in an arbitrary supergravity background.
We introduce a spin chain based on finite-dimensional spin-1/2 SU(2) representations but with a non-hermitian `Hamiltonian and show, using mostly analytical techniques, that it is described at low energies by the SL(2,R)/U(1) Euclidian black hole Conformal Field Theory. This identification goes beyond the appearance of a non-compact spectrum: we are also able to determine the density of states, and show that it agrees with the formulas in [J. Math. Phys. 42, 2961 (2001)] and [JHEP 04, 014 (2002)], hence providing a direct `physical measurement of the associated reflection amplitude.
