We investigate the properties of two- and three-dimensional non-commutative fermion gases with fixed total z-component of angular momentum, J_z, and at high density for the simplest form of non-commutativity involving constant spatial commutators. Analytic expressions for the entropy and pressure are found. The entropy exhibits non-extensive behaviour while the pressure reveals the presence of incompressibility in two, but not in three dimensions. Remarkably, for two-dimensional systems close to the incompressible density, the entropy is proportional to the square root of the system size, i.e., for such systems the number of microscopic degrees of freedom is determined by the circumference, rather than the area (size) of the system. The absence of incompressibility in three dimensions, and subsequently also the absence of a scaling law for the entropy analogous to the one found in two dimensions, is attributed to the form of the non-commutativity used here, the breaking of the rotational symmetry it implies and the subsequent constraint on J_z, rather than the angular momentum J. Restoring the rotational symmetry while constraining the total angular momentum J seems to be crucial for incompressibility in three dimensions. We briefly discuss ways in which this may be done and point out possible obstacles.

In this article we study the problem of a non-relativistic particle in the presence of a singular potential in the noncommutative plane. The potential contains a term proportional to $1/R^2$, where $R^2$ is the squared distance to the origin in the noncommutative plane. We find that the spectrum of energies is non analytic in the noncommutativity parameter $theta$.
Recently the 14 moments model of Extended Thermodynamics for dense gases and macromolecular fluids has been considered and an exact solution, of the restrictions imposed by the entropy principle and that of Galilean relativity, has been obtained through a non relativistic limit. Here we prove uniqueness of the above solution and exploit other pertinent conditions such us the convexity of the function $h$ related to the entropy density, the problem of subsystems and the fact that the flux in the conservation law of mass must be the moment of order 1 in the conservation law of momentum. Also the solution of this last condition is here obtained without using expansions around equilibrium. The results present interesting aspects which were not suspected when only approximated solutions of this problem were known.
For any variable number, a non-stationary Ruijsenaars function was recently introduced as a natural generalization of an explicitly known asymptotically free solution of the trigonometric Ruijsenaars model, and it was conjectured that this non-stationary Ruijsenaars function provides an explicit solution of the elliptic Ruijsenaars model. We present alternative series representations of the non-stationary Ruijsenaars functions, and we prove that these series converge. We also introduce novel difference operators called ${mathcal T}$ which, as we prove in the trigonometric limit and conjecture in the general case, act diagonally on the non-stationary Ruijsenaars functions.
We calculate the entanglement entropy of a non-contiguous subsystem of a chain of free fermions. The starting point is a formula suggested by Jin and Korepin, texttt{arXiv:1104.1004}, for the reduced density of states of two disjoint intervals with lattice sites $P={1,2,dots,m}cup{2m+1,2m+2,dots, 3m}$, which applies to this model. As a first step in the asymptotic analysis of this system, we consider its simplification to two disjoint intervals separated just by one site, and we rigorously calculate the mutual information between these two blocks and the rest of the chain. In order to compute the entropy we need to study the asymptotic behaviour of an inverse Toeplitz matrix with Fisher-Hartwig symbol using the the Riemann--Hilbert method.
Following our recent letter, we study in detail an entry-wise diffusion of non-hermitian complex matrices. We obtain an exact partial differential equation (valid for any matrix size $N$ and arbitrary initial conditions) for evolution of the averaged extended characteristic polynomial. The logarithm of this polynomial has an interpretation of a potential which generates a Burgers dynamics in quaternionic space. The dynamics of the ensemble in the large $N$ is completely determined by the coevolution of the spectral density and a certain eigenvector correlation function. This coevolution is best visible in an electrostatic potential of a quaternionic argument built of two complex variables, the first of which governs standard spectral properties while the second unravels the hidden dynamics of eigenvector correlation function. We obtain general large $N$ formulas for both spectral density and 1-point eigenvector correlation function valid for any initial conditions. We exemplify our studies by solving three examples, and we verify the analytic form of our solutions with numerical simulations.
