We consider the space of boundary conditions of Virasoro minimal models formed from the composition of a collection of flows generated by phi_{1,3}. These have recently been shown to fall naturally into a sequence, each term having a coordinate on it in terms of a boundary parameter, but no global parameter has been proposed. Here we investigate the idea that the overlaps of particular bulk states with the boundary states give natural coordinates on the moduli space of boundary conditions. We find formulae for these overlaps using the known thermodynamic Bethe Ansatz descriptions of the ground and first excited state on the cylinder and show that they give a global coordinate on the space of boundary conditions, showing it is smooth and compact as expected.

In this paper we consider excited state g-functions, that is, overlaps between boundary states and excited states in boundary conformal field theory. We find a new method to calculate these overlaps numerically using a variation of the truncated conformal space approach. We apply this method to the Lee-Yang model for which the unique boundary perturbation is integrable and for which the TBA system describing the boundary overlaps is known. Using the truncated conformal space approach we obtain numerical results for the ground state and the first three excited states which are in excellent agreement with the TBA results. As a special case we can calculate the standard g-function which is the overlap with the ground state and find that our new method is considerably more accurate than the original method employed by Dorey et al.
We study various geometrical aspects of Schroedinger space-times with dynamical exponent z>1 and compare them with the properties of AdS (z=1). The Schroedinger metrics are singular for 1<z<2 while the usual Poincare coordinates are incomplete for z geq 2. For z=2 we obtain a global coordinate system and we explain the relations among its geodesic completeness, the choice of global time, and the harmonic trapping of non-relativistic CFTs. For z>2, we show that the Schroedinger space-times admit no global timelike Killing vectors.
We consider deformations of torsion-free G2 structures, defined by the G2-invariant 3-form $phi$ and compute the expansion of the Hodge star of $phi$ to fourth order in the deformations of $phi$. By considering M-theory compactified on a G2 manifold, the G2 moduli space is naturally complexified, and we get a Kahler metric on it. Using the expansion of the Hodge star of $phi$ we work out the full curvature of this metric and relate it to the Yukawa coupling.
We analyze the quantum-corrected moduli space of D7-brane position moduli with special emphasis on inflationary model building. D7-brane deformation moduli are key players in two recently proposed inflationary scenarios: The first, D7-brane chaotic inflation, is a variant of axion monodromy inflation which allows for an effective 4d supergravity description. The second, fluxbrane inflation, is a stringy version of D-term hybrid inflation. Both proposals rely on the fact that D7-brane coordinates enjoy a shift-symmetric Kahler potential at large complex structure of the Calabi-Yau threefold, making them naturally lighter than other fields. This shift symmetry is inherited from the mirror-dual Type IIA Wilson line on a D6-brane at large volume. The inflaton mass can be provided by a tree-level term in the flux superpotential. It induces a monodromy and, if tuned to a sufficiently small value, can give rise to a large-field model of inflation. Alternatively, by a sensible flux choice one can completely avoid a tree-level mass term, in which case the inflaton potential is induced via loop corrections. The positive vacuum energy can then be provided by a D-term, leading to a small-field model of hybrid natural inflation. In the present paper, we continue to develop a detailed understanding of the D7-brane moduli space focusing among others on shift-symmetry-preserving flux choices, flux-induced superpotential in Type IIB/F-theory language, and loop corrections. While the inflationary applications represent our main physics motivation, we expect that some of our findings will be useful for other phenomenological issues involving 7-branes in Type IIB/F-theory constructions.
Harmonic maps that minimise the Dirichlet energy in their homotopy classes are known as lumps. Lump solutions on real projective space are explicitly given by rational maps subject to a certain symmetry requirement. This has consequences for the behaviour of lumps and their symmetries. An interesting feature is that the moduli space of charge three lumps is a $7$-dimensional manifold of cohomogeneity one which can be described as a one-parameter family of symmetry orbits of $D_2$ symmetric maps. In this paper, we discuss the charge three moduli spaces of lumps from two perspectives: discrete symmetries of lumps and the Riemann-Hurwitz formula. We then calculate the metric and find explicit formulas for various geometric quantities. We also discuss the implications for lump decay.
