We present a systematic study of symmetries, invariants and moduli spaces of classes of coframes. We introduce a classifying Lie algebroid to give a complete description of the solution to Cartans realization problem that applies to both the local and the glob

Given a G-structure with connection satisfying a regularity assumption we associate to it a classifying Lie algebroid. This algebroid contains all the information about the equivalence problem and is an example of a G-structure Lie algebroid. We discuss the properties of this algebroid, the G-structure groupoids integrating it and the relationship with Cartans realization problem.

We endow the group of automorphisms of an exact Courant algebroid over a compact manifold with an infinite dimensional Lie group structure modelled on the inverse limit of Hilbert spaces (ILH). We prove a slice theorem for the action of this Lie group on the space of generalized metrics. As an application, we show that the moduli space of generalized metrics is stratified by ILH submanifolds and relate it to the moduli space of usual metrics. Finally, we extend these results to odd exact Courant algebroids.
We consider the extension problem for Lie algebroids over schemes over a field. Given a locally free Lie algebroid Q over a scheme (X,O), and a sheaf of finitely generated Lie O-algebras L, we determine the obstruction to the existence of extensions 0 --> L --> E --> Q --> 0, and classify the extensions in terms of a suitable Lie algebroid hypercohomology group. In the preliminary sections we study free Lie algebroids and recall some basic facts about Lie algebroid hypercohomology.

We present the geometric formulation of gravity based on the mathematical structure of a Lie Algebroid. We show that this framework provides the geometrical setting to describe the gauge propriety of gravity.

We show that the hypercohomology of the Chevalley-Eilenberg-de Rham complex of a Lie algebroid L over a scheme with coefficients in an L-module can be expressed as a derived functor. We use this fact to study a Hochschild-Serre type spectral sequence attached to an extension of Lie algebroids.
