Nowadays, a popular method used for additive watermarking is wide spread spectrum. It consists in adding a spread signal into the host document. This signal is obtained by the sum of a set of carrier vectors, which are modulated by the bits to be embedded. To extract these embedded bits, weighted correlations between the watermarked document and the carriers are computed. Unfortunately, even without any attack, the obtained set of bits can be corrupted due to the interference with the host signal (host interference) and also due to the interference with the others carriers (inter-symbols interference (ISI) due to the non-orthogonality of the carriers). Some recent watermarking algorithms deal with host interference using side informed methods, but inter-symbols interference problem is still open. In this paper, we deal with interference cancellation methods, and we propose to consider ISI as side information and to integrate it into the host signal. This leads to a great improvement of extraction performance in term of signal-to-noise ratio and/or watermark robustness.

Security is a critical issue in full duplex (FD) communication systems due to the broadcast nature of wireless channels. In this paper, joint design of information and artificial noise beamforming vectors is proposed for the FD simultaneous wireless information and power transferring (FD-SWIPT) systems with loopback self-interference cancellation. To guarantee high security and energy harvesting performance of the FD-SWIPT system, the proposed design is formulated as a secrecy rate maximization problem under energy transfer rate constraints. Although the secrecy rate maximization problem is non-convex, we solve it via semidefinite relaxation and a two-dimensional search. We prove the optimality of our proposed algorithm and demonstrate its performance via simulations.
In this paper, we propose the joint interference cancellation, fast fading channel estimation, and data symbol detection for a general interference setting where the interfering source and the interfered receiver are unsynchronized and occupy overlapping channels of different bandwidths. The interference must be canceled before the channel estimation and data symbol detection of the desired communication are performed. To this end, we have to estimate the Effective Interference Coefficients (EICs) and then the desired fast fading channel coefficients. We construct a two-phase framework where the EICs and desired channel coefficients are estimated using the joint maximum likelihood-maximum a posteriori probability (JML-MAP) criteria in the first phase; and the MAP based data symbol detection is performed in the second phase. Based on this two-phase framework, we also propose an iterative algorithm for interference cancellation, channel estimation and data detection. We analyze the channel estimation error, residual interference, symbol error rate (SER) achieved by the proposed framework. We then discuss how to optimize the pilot density to achieve the maximum throughput. Via numerical studies, we show that our design can effectively mitigate the interference for a wide range of SNR values, our proposed channel estimation and symbol detection design can achieve better performances compared to the existing method. Moreover, we demonstrate the improved performance of the iterative algorithm with respect to the non-iterative counterpart.
A great challenge to steganography has arisen with the wide application of steganalysis methods based on convolutional neural networks (CNNs). To this end, embedding cost learning frameworks based on generative adversarial networks (GANs) have been proposed and achieved success for spatial steganography. However, the application of GAN to JPEG steganography is still in the prototype stage; its anti-detectability and training efficiency should be improved. In conventional steganography, research has shown that the side-information calculated from the precover can be used to enhance security. However, it is hard to calculate the side-information without the spatial domain image. In this work, an embedding cost learning framework for JPEG Steganography via a Generative Adversarial Network (JS-GAN) has been proposed, the learned embedding cost can be further adjusted asymmetrically according to the estimated side-information. Experimental results have demonstrated that the proposed method can automatically learn a content-adaptive embedding cost function, and use the estimated side-information properly can effectively improve the security performance. For example, under the attack of a classic steganalyzer GFR with quality factor 75 and 0.4 bpnzAC, the proposed JS-GAN can increase the detection error 2.58% over J-UNIWARD, and the estimated side-information aided version JS-GAN(ESI) can further increase the security performance by 11.25% over JS-GAN.

We consider the probe of astrophysical signals through radio interferometers with small field of view and baselines with non-negligible and constant component in the pointing direction. In this context, the visibilities measured essentially identify with a noisy and incomplete Fourier coverage of the product of the planar signals with a linear chirp modulation. In light of the recent theory of compressed sensing and in the perspective of defining the best possible imaging techniques for sparse signals, we analyze the related spread spectrum phenomenon and suggest its universality relative to the sparsity dictionary. Our results rely both on theoretical considerations related to the mutual coherence between the sparsity and sensing dictionaries, as well as on numerical simulations.
The problem of joint source-channel coding in transmitting independent sources over interference channels with correlated receiver side information is studied. When each receiver has side information correlated with its own desired source, it is shown that source-channel code separation is optimal. When each receiver has side information correlated with the interfering source, sufficient conditions for reliable transmission are provided based on a joint source-channel coding scheme using the superposition encoding and partial decoding idea of Han and Kobayashi. When the receiver side information is a deterministic function of the interfering source, source-channel code separation is again shown to be optimal. As a special case, for a class of Z-interference channels, when the side information of the receiver facing interference is a deterministic function of the interfering source, necessary and sufficient conditions for reliable transmission are provided in the form of single letter expressions. As a byproduct of these joint source-channel coding results, the capacity region of a class of Z-channels with degraded message sets is also provided.
