The annihilations of WIMPs produce high energy gamma-rays in the final state. These high energy gamma-rays may be detected by IACTs such as the H.E.S.S. array of Imaging Atmospheric Cherenkov telescopes. Besides the popular targets such as the Galactic Center or galaxy clusters such as VIRGO, dwarf spheroidal galaxies are privileged targets for Dark Matter annihilation signal searches. H.E.S.S. observations on the Sagittarius dwarf galaxy are presented. The modelling of the Dark Matter halo profile of Sagittarius dwarf is discussed. Constraints on the velocity-weighted cross section of Dark Matter particles are derived in the framework of Supersymmetric and Kaluza-Klein models. The future of H.E.S.S. will be briefly discussed.

The nature of Dark Matter (DM) is one of the most debated questions of contemporary physics. Ground-based arrays of Cherenkov telescopes such as the High Energy Spectroscopic System (H.E.S.S.) search for DM signatures through the detection of Very-High-Energy (VHE, $E > 100$ GeV) gamma-rays. DM particles could self-annihilate in dense environments producing VHE $gamma$-rays in the final states that could be eventually detected by H.E.S.S.. The H.E.S.S. observation strategy for DM search focuses towards the Galactic Centre (GC) region and nearby dwarf galaxy satellites of the Milky Way. The GC dataset provides the most stringent constraints on the DM annihilation cross section in the mass range 300 GeV - 70 TeV. Searches have been carried out towards classical and ultra-faint dwarf galaxies to test specific heavy DM models. The latest results towards the GC and dwarf galaxies are shown.
The gravitino in models with a small violation of R-parity is a well-motivated decaying dark matter candidate that leads to a cosmological scenario that is consistent with big bang nucleosynthesis and thermal leptogenesis. The gravitino lifetime is cosmologically long-lived since its decays are suppressed by the Planck-scale as well as the small R-parity violating parameter. We discuss the signals in different cosmic-ray species coming from the decay of gravitino dark matter, namely gamma rays, positrons, antiprotons, antideuterons and neutrinos. Comparison to cosmic-ray data can be used to constrain the parameters of the model.

The H.E.S.S. experiment is an array of four identical imaging atmospheric Cherenkov telescopes in the Southern hemisphere, designed to observe very high energy gamma-rays (E > 100 GeV). These high energy gamma-rays can be used to search for annihilations of Dark Matter particles in dense environments. Dwarf galaxy dynamics shows that they are Dark Matter-dominated environments. Several observation campaigns on dwarf satellite galaxies of the Milky Way were launched by H.E.S.S.. The observations are reviewed. In the absence of clear signals, constraints on the Dark Matter particle annihilation cross-section have been derived in different particle physics scenarios. Some possible enhancements of the gamma-ray flux are studied, i.e., the Sommerfeld effect, the internal bremsstrahlung and the substructures in the Dark Matter halo.
High energy ${gamma}$-rays are powerful probes in the search for annihilations of dark matter (DM) par- ticles in dense environments. In several DM particle models their annihilation produces characteristic features such as lines, bumps or cut-offs in their energy spectrum. The High Energy Stereoscopic System (H.E.S.S.) of imaging atmospheric Cherenkov telescopes is perfectly suited to search for such features from multi-TeV mass DM particles. The Dwarf Spheroidal Galaxies (dSphs) of the Local Group are the most common satellites of the Milky Way and assumed to be gravitationally bound dominantly by DM, with up to O(10 3 ) times more mass in DM than in visible matter. Over the past decade, several observational campaigns on dwarf satellite galaxies were launched by H.E.S.S. amounting to more than 140 hours of exposure in total. The observations are reviewed here. In the absence of clear signals, the expected spectral and spatial morphologies of signal and background are used to derive constraints on the DM particle annihilation cross- section for particle models producing line-like signals. The combination of the data of all the dwarf galaxies allows a significant improvement in the HESS sensitivity.
Over the past decade, extensive studies have been undertaken to search for photon signals from dark matter annihilation or decay for dark matter particle masses above $sim1$ GeV. However, due to the lacking sensitivity of current experiments at MeV-GeV energies, sometimes dubbed the MeV gap, dark matter models with MeV to sub-GeV particle masses have received little attention so far. Various proposed MeV missions (like, e.g., e-ASTROGAM or AMEGO) are aimed at closing this gap in the mid- or long-term future. This, and the absence of clear dark matter signals in the GeV-TeV range, makes it relevant to carefully reconsider the expected experimental instrumental sensitivities in this mass range. The most common two-body annihilation channels for sub-GeV dark matter are to neutrinos, electrons, pions or directly to photons. Among these, only the electron channel has been extensively studied, and almost exclusively in the context of the 511 keV line. In this work, we study the prospects for detecting MeV dark matter annihilation in general in future MeV missions, using e-ASTROGAM as reference, and focusing on dark matter masses in the range 1 MeV-3 GeV. In the case of leptonic annihilation, we emphasise the importance of the often overlooked bremsstrahlung and in-flight annihilation spectral features, which in many cases provide the dominant gamma-ray signal in this regime.
