يهدف الاعتماد المهني العام إلى تطوير نظام توصيات لتحسين جودة البرامج التعليمية في التعليم العالي. وكما هو معروف فإن خبراء الاعتماد المهني العام يضم ممثلين عن أصحاب العمل والتعليم والطلاب. ومع ذلك، ونظراً لعدم وجود لوائح وأشكال التقارير، يمكن ملاحظة أنه في عدد من وثائق التقارير لا توجد معلومات حول علاقة المؤسسة التعليمية بأصحاب العمل. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، لا توجد قاعدة بيانات واحدة تم اعتماد البرامج التعليمية فيها ومجتمعات الخبراء المهنية والعامة. وبالتالي، فإن فعالية الاعتماد المهني العام منخفضة حاليًا. ولزيادة أهمية هذا الإجراء لا بد من زيادة أهمية اتحادات أصحاب العمل والطلاب عند تنفيذ الإجراءات أو الاعتماد المهني والعام.
